LaserJet printing all black pages

I have a HP LaserJet 1200 and no matter what I print it only prints black pages. I have tried the printer on 3 different machines and get the same results. On each machine I used the most current driver I could find. The machines were running WinXP, Win98, and NT 4.0. Any help on why it is doing this is appreciated.

Well you know its not your computer, but your printer itself. Now, have you tried to clean the drum unit? If not. follow your instruction manual to correctly do so. Another thing I would do is to replace the toner cartridge, thereby eliminating the cartridge as the culprit. If it isn’t, then you can restore the new one and continue to use the old one...nothing lost.
I am not familiar with that model printer, or its drivers. However, sometimes, through the software, one can control the shade of ink on the page. Perhaps the setting (if you have one) is set all the way to dark. I would check the printer properties to see if such is the case.
Another thing maybe worth trying is to use an older driver and see if that fixes the problem..who knows. I would first use the driver the printer shipped with if its compatible with your OS.

Try this. Go into Windows explorer and delete 2 files from your \windows\inf directory called drvdata.bin and drvidx.bin (may have to change view to all files)
Delete your printer from your printers setup.
Reboot the PC and it should redetect the printer and now install the new drivers and see what happens.
Hope this helps...

Thanks for the help. When I took the printer case off t check the drum I found some type of controller card and on it there was a cable that was not seated properly. I pushed it back down and the thing works like a champion.
