Hmm CD-R Audio with an RCA?

Ok, I me and my father picked up a RCA Home Stereo / Theater system. We've hooked it to our TV, but we want it for CD's as well. Now it plays normal CD's just fine, but when it comes to CD-R's or CD-RW's, it skips, every few seconds. But, it's supposed to be able to read CD-R and CD-RW just fine.

Now, I've tried these in my older Aiwa Theatre system and they run perfectly, even though my Aiwa doesn't say anything about CD-R and/or CD-RW support. So I'm suspecting the RCA to be at fault. Now I've tried 3 CD's already and to no avail. I've burned them at 16x 8x and even 4x, but still, no fix.

Any ideas?

Thanks, AoD.
