sound card problems

I was hoping someone could confirm my suspicion that my computer problems are b/c of my sound card.
When I play an audio file or a video with audio on it, my computer tends to do one of the following two things within moments to a few minutes of playing:
1) the audio automatically mutes itself and i have to manually unmute it or
2) the computer freezes and whatever sound was playing at that exact moment is continuosly repeated

I thought it might have been a software problem but it occurs in all media players that i use and even if im watching a flash intro or something on the internet.

I have also reloaded the audio drivers but have had no success in fixing the problem.

Here is my PC Info:
Pentium III ~666MHz (L1 cash: 32.0 Kb, L2 cash: 256.0 Kb)
128 Mb (130 544 Kb)
All-In-Wonder 128 Pro AGP (32.0 Mb)
Microsoft WINMM WDM Audio Compatibility Driver
Windows 2000

(my soundcard is a Soundblaster Live so im not sure why it didnt show up as such)

Any insight into this would be greatly appreciated Thanks

It seems like your soundcard hasn't been detected right. Windows is using a compatibility driver (which is always a bad thing).

Have you tried reinstalling the sound drivers off your cd?
