No preference. It would be preferable if everyone brought cloth bags to the grocery and reused those each trip. But who am I kidding, nobody's going to do that, heh.

the major grocery chains in the area recycle the plastic ones, so i go with plastic now. before they did that, i usually asked for paper.

I like plastic although it's not good for the environment.

oh yes, this is an american thing, over here in the UK we don't get a choice, it's plastic or nothingm but lucky most of the stores here recomend re0using bags, and some even offer a reward for re-using bags

Paper. We double them up, reuse them until they are in tatters, and then recycle them. The paper bags are bigger.

I take whatever they use, usually plastic, but if I am running low on paper bags then I ask for paper.

Who cares?

Posted by: Bobaroo

I use plastic, because it is stronger.

Plastic... then i flush them so the baby penquins can have some fun too.....

Seriously tho, there isnt much of a paper movement here.... food for thought tho.

Posted by: redwench

as long as the plastic can be recycled, its not that important to have paper too. but if theres no bag recycling, paper is better, since it comes from a renewable resource and is compostable.
