CDRLabs has taken on the TDK veloCD 32/10/40 CD-RW. I'm not really sure why the RW speed is only 10x...but, oh well. Here's a snip:
TDK's new veloCD has an impressive list of features and performance to match. When it comes to writing, the veloCD 32/10/40 is one of the fastest 32x writers available. Unlike some other 32x writers, TDK's new drive was noticeably faster than even the fastest 24x writers I've tested. But before you run out and buy one of these, you should know that this speed doesn't come without a price. Along with the additional noise from its high rotation speeds, you will probably need to use media rated at 32x with the veloCD. When we tried to use media rated at lower speeds, the results weren't always ideal.
