Okay, who's still playing?
I picked up LBR, and I've been playing on Lake Superior. Right now working on a warrior named Cyrius around the Haven area, but I'm not sure if I'll end up keeping him or not.
Posted by: Tecil
I was thinking about it, but I've been addicted to Meridian 59 all over again.
How much is LBR?
Posted by: Null Actor
was 45$ CDN so probably 30$ or less USD.
Posted by: Null Actor
Hey janna, you should hurry up and reply. I got a free month to give you. Of course, you only have 3 or 4 more days before I can't give it to you anymore.
Posted by: JANNA
morning nova. ur back on LS!! cool i will be on tonite most liekly. give me a ICQ later wont have it on till i get home tonite.
Posted by: JANNA
oh and what are u doing in haven thats for total newbies. and i hope ur not using the 3D lbr
Posted by: Tecil
Does the 3D client suck?
I have heard mixed things about it. I quit playing right before third dawn came out.
Posted by: JANNA
my opinion the 3d client is absolute crap. lots of crashes ugly graphics bad animations. it has a lot of potential tho if they can iron out the crashing problems and hire a few computer artists and 3D modelers. but for me for the foreseeable future im sticking to the 2D client. only thing they messed up with the new lbr2d client is the in-game sound effects. they sound like hell now. but i play with the sound off so its no biggee to me
Posted by: Null Actor
Janna you'll have to icq me, I lost your icq number a while back.
I've been using both clients trying to decide which is better. I haven't had a crash with the 3d client. I kinda like the smoothness the 3d adds, but the interface is far worse.
I mostly play with the 2d client.
And of course I'm in haven... I'm reaping the benefits of being a newbie. I have over 5000 gold already
They sure did make the game easier. And it is very much NOT a bad thing.
Posted by: Tecil
Can you still build macros at all?
It gets pretty tedious doing anatomy and eval Int on people over and over.
Posted by: Null Actor
Is there a way to disable that horrible mp3 music and go back to the classic ultima midis?
I know that the directory is still there and whatnot, I just want to know if there is a way to do this.
*starts experimenting*
Posted by: Null Actor
Hah cool. Just had to kill the 'Digital' folder.
I named it 'ass' to be a better description of the contents.
Posted by: JANNA
long as ur in a safe spot ur not gona crash in the 3d client everytime i go into a dungeon and start wacking say.... a balron the damn thing crashes on me. when im in town or just fooling around it runs fine. music i just turn it off i wish i could figure a way of editing the mul files for the sound effects to bring back the old t2a sounds. the only good thing about the MP3 music is taht u can change it to anything u want like say ACDC or lords of acid tunes.
5k gold is nothing hehhe there are fast ways to gain skills and slow ways when ur in haven ur doing it the slow way. u can be a 4-5X gm warrior in a weekend of playing easy if u know what ur doing. more powerful skills still take time to build but not half as bad as it used to be.
ill send ya an icq from home mine at work is flakey since i havent up dated it in forever
Posted by: Null Actor
Well, I'm online and got nothing to do for the rest of the day, so ICQ me back.
Posted by: Null Actor
Well, finished my new player status, so now I'm just running around the world. My travel is at the mercy of the moongates however.
Currently in minoc. Might head to vesper (if I can remember how to get there )
Posted by: Muggs
Play on obsidian shard people. not as many people but we can all play together and poor people can come too.
Posted by: JANNA
I play UO mainly cuz it is run by a game company that constantly updates the game has a lot of people playing and i dont have to contend with jerks on a minute by minute basis less i go to the pk world. problem with private shards like that is the constant cheating and oft times crazy rulesets.
Posted by: Muggs
this shard doesnt have any pk's and not many cheaters cause there arent many people yet
Posted by: Tecil
I've tried a few player run shards and none of them are that fun to play. Most of them are to chaotic, and no gameplay balancing is enforced.
OSI shards are still the best to play on.
Damn you guys are getting me excited to play again. Only wish I had the time to invest.
Posted by: Muggs
I should take that pk thing back
while i was typing that some shit face just killed me
Posted by: JANNA
top reasons i play UO on osi shard in order:
1. Lots of people
2. no or very limited cheating that doesnt last long
3. good support from GM staff
4. always changing for the better very well organized
5. i know that its going to be there next month
6. timely patches to client problems
7. when i recieve a patch or file from osi i know its not trojaned
all that being said i cant wait to log in tonite since the problem that kept me from playing last nite seems to be fixed.
Posted by: Tecil
I'm seriously thinking about starting up UO again.
I did download Anarchy Online last night. PC Gamer has been going off on it the last couple of months on how good it is now. They are offering a free 7 day trial so I thought I would check it out. If I don't, I can't say that I've played every MMORPG.
Posted by: JANNA
i live on lake superior shard if u decide to return to UO
Posted by: Tecil
I played on Superior on release day for 3 months, then moved to Napa Valley.
I played on Napa for over a year then switched to Pacific and stayed there until I quit last summer.
Posted by: JANNA
ive been on LS since i started UO heh i dont play on anyother shard and dont plan on ever leaving LS till the shard gets wiped for good.
Posted by: Tecil
I don't think it really matters what shard you are on.
Your going to get a lag pocket now and then either way. I only switched to different servers because my friends or guild did.
I only quit playing because of no one I knew was playing and I didn't have as much time. Now my work network runs smooth and I have all kinds of free time.
Knock on wood...hehe
Posted by: JANNA
people come and go in UO tis sad when the good ones leave but u always make more friends and i dont go for long without a cool group of folks to hang with in UO. i stay on LS cuz i have no desire to start from scratch ever again in that game. building characters to a playable level in any game is no longer my idea of fun. Barb Wire my very first character in UO is finally 7x GM and 3 of those are the hardest skills in the game to GM so i have absolutely no desire to move
Posted by: Tecil
I remember the good ole days...hehe
I think the longest GM for me was anatomy, healing, and eval intelligence.
Oh and that last .2% for magery seems like it took days.
Then they stated messing with how you couldn't macro. That really upped the time on making a 7x.
Posted by: JANNA
well its taken me two years to 7x

hehe
I used to do more unattended macroing in the early days. I had fisher woman that was my wife's char. She got GM fising in a little under a week. Fishing 23 hours per day.
Later on I built a macro for her. She would sit in the center of her ship out in the middle of the ocean. She would fish off either side of the boat for a few casts then the boat would move forward a couple of slots. Then every once in a while it would make a right turn. It would drop all of the fish on the deck of the ship. I had one stack that was 38,000 fish deep.
You'd just have to clean the backpack out now and then.
Her DEX was so high I made her a GM fencer and Archer.
I made a hauling selling either the SOS bottles or fishing them up instead.
I've been reading the UO boards over on UOvault and uo.stratics for the the last couple of days. After trying out Anarchy online I still think UO is the best MMORPG ever.
Posted by: JANNA
indeed it is the best there is right now altho OSI dev team seems bent on destroying the pk half of the world totally. they dont seem to understand taht people dont go to UO to play quake. heh they trying to force more people into PvP when they dont seem to get it that pvp is a very small minority of any online game less it started out as a FPS.
Posted by: Tecil
Yeah I had a PvP player, but even after hitting 7x with him I still didn't use him that much. I pulled his name on uo.com last night and I see he is now only a 3x.
I just think of all those hours I spent, and how much that guy payed for that account.
Posted by: JANNA
sorry i hooked u back into uo nova i honestly had no idea that osi this past 3 days would propose what they did to completely turn uo into EQ and DAOC. im not sure what im gonna do i may even quit playing if the changes they are proposing to taming felucca and barding go into effect. (((((((((((((((
Posted by: Tecil
What did they announce? I was going to go pick it up today

Huh what? I haven't been following stuff, so I'm not sure what's up.
But you didn't get me back to UO... I was probably gonna do it anyway.
Posted by: JANNA
go take a peek at either the bard forum at myboards at uo.com or over at http://boards.stratics.com/php-bin/...=2&Board=uobard
but as u will see so many people are upset about these changes taht the stratics forums are flooded with hatemail for osi.... its not only bards they are fking over but tamers and the entire pk side of the world
Posted by: Null Actor
*shrug*
I'm not a bard.
I want them to implement the ****ing virtue system though. That was the whole reason I bought LBR... and surprise!
It's not there yet.
Posted by: Tecil
I wasn't going to play a bard either. I always liked the straight warrior type.
Posted by: Tecil
Well I'm going to go pick it up at CompUSA. I think I might join up on Superior with you guys if that is ok.
I've been tempted of buying someones GM mage account. Magery is the only thing I hate raising.
Posted by: JANNA
magic is super easy to get to 85 and a maybe a week to GM it after that. if u do i can show ya how really fast.
Posted by: Tecil
Sweet it used to take days macroing.
I would stand inside my tower casing over and over. Eventually went out in the ocean on my ship and cast earth quake over and over till I hit GM.
Posted by: JANNA
just need a couple k of regs and it takes all of two days maybe three to be in the 90's but u will still need med and eval if u plan on attacking anything. if u start out decide on what u want to do for the rest of ur skills that will determine where u place points. since some skills like magic and resist are VERY easy to raise to the 50 level u dont want to waste ur starting points in those. let me know what u plan and i can make good suggetion where to put ur points to start for maximum effect
Posted by: Tecil
I used to own a house on Pacific that was half in town at Vesper and half out. Always came in really handy when macroing magery/resist.
Well I used to always play a tank mage, but I was bored of that.
I was kind of leaning towards a pure warrior type. Onlying having magery to 50-60 or so to recall and stuff.
Here is what I was thinking.
Sword
Tactics
Lumberjacking
Anatomy
Healing
Resist
Archery
Both of these skills don't need to be that high. Just need magery for recall and hiding to pause now and then.
-Magery
-Hiding
Posted by: JANNA
u dont need magic at all to recall. using scrolls and a runebook. u will fail so it isnt an option for fleeing.
for starting skills. healing 50 and hiding 50. those are the two hardest to raise from 0-50 in the skills u mentioned. set ur str at the most u can with a new character i think its 60 nowadays. then in game buy the rest to 30 from npc. i would suggest either dropping lumber or archery drop archery if u ever plan on pvp.
Posted by: Tecil
I'm not that big on PvP anymore. I used to do it more in the early days but gave up. I'm more of a PvM person.
Posted by: Muggs
Either one of you know where to download a good macro thing that isnt to hard to use?
Posted by: Tecil
EZ-Macro is probably the best to use.
If your using it for UO then just use the built in one that comes with UO-Assist.
Posted by: Muggs
umm what the heck is UO-Assit and where can i get these things?
Posted by: Tecil
UO-Assist is a must if you play UO. You can build macros off of it and add other functionality to the game client. OSI has it on their 3rd party list that they validated.
Check it out here.
http://www.tugsoft.com/
Posted by: Muggs
i said an easy one
i gotta register and set that up and everything and i dont even think it works on free shards
Posted by: Null Actor
I've never used any assist program. What's it do?
Posted by: Tecil

Some of the free shards I've tried had it enabled. I forgot you were not playing on a legit shard. EZ-Macro would be the best for you to use then. I don't remember who makes it though.

UO-Assist really helps out. There is a bunch of stuff you can do with it. You can build macros to lets say. Take off all of your armor an use meditation. I had one that I used in my PvP days. It would take my sword out of my hand, cast explosion, then e-bolt, re-equip my halbred, and start using healing on myself. That was one of the deadly combos that would usually kill in one strike.
It also keeps track of your regs. If you playin a window you can put your life bar, money, regs, all in the title bar at the top so you don't have to clutter your screen.
I don't remember everything it does been a few months since I've played, but it's well worth the 14.95. You can try it out for 7 days for free to see if you like it.
Posted by: JANNA
ez-macros in origin run shards is bannable offense. ez-macro users are also amongst the highest number of people who get the accounts routinely hacked....
uoassist is pretty good didnt use it till recently for working lockpick. i was not about to open and close 150,000 locked boxes by hand.
Posted by: Null Actor
janna you have to turn on your icq when you are playing so that we can meet up more. I'm around 95% in swordsmanship now, but I need to get my magic resist up because spells still roast the hell out of me. I'll need your help for that.
Posted by: Tecil
I went to CompUSA to buy a copy yesteday but they didn't have any. I'll check eb and software etc today.
Posted by: Muggs
THis UO Assist does look good for people on legit shards. The people on this shard that i have talked to use EZ Macro, this shard will ban un supervised macroing but if you sit there and watch or what ever its ok.
Is this EZ Macro thing found free? and does anyone know some scripts for fishing i wanna get a bottle and stuff.
Posted by: Tecil
I don't remember if it is. Do a google search for it and see if you can find it.
Yeah on legit shards un-attended macroing is a no no. I actually got throwin in jail a couple times in the old days. I don't plan on doing it anymore as it is a lame way of not actually role playing your character.
Posted by: Muggs
yea i just found it
thanks for the help it works good
Posted by: JANNA
sorry nova hehe but i havent been on that much this weekend altho im about to log in as Jet and work parry a bit
Posted by: Tecil
Damn Nova how did you get your swords up so fast?
Posted by: Tecil
We should start an OTS guild and get more players from here.
Everywhere I go has been sold out. I'm going to check a couple other places today.
Posted by: Tecil
I'm on your guys shard now. I'm Cadria.
Posted by: JANNA
i gotta go cook supper should be around 8.30 to 9 pm central when i log in. icq me. nova has my number if u dont already
Posted by: Null Actor
Hey janna I GMed swords and tactics last night.
Resist at 51%.
Now what? We should go kill stuff.
Posted by: JANNA
sure but when the changes to barding get published im quiting UO never thought that would happen
Posted by: JANNA
after talking to some friends in game they convinced me to readjust my skills and proffession so my previous post can be ignored. the quiting part that is heh
Posted by: Tecil
Thats cool, glad you decided to stick around.
I'm still in Haven at this point. I just hit 60 swords last night. Going to use my power hour on it tonight and see where I go.
I will probably hang out in Vesper as it tends to have the best access to different areas.
Posted by: JANNA
im not sure how long i will be around probably long enough to get u started in the game tecil but osi is determined to make me a useless fluffer of a character. i will try but im not sure i have what it takes to start from being a newbie again after being at the top for so long and after having worked so hard to get there.
Posted by: Tecil
PM me your guys ICQ #s so we can go fight stuff.
I'll be GM sword/tactics by the end of the weekend.
Posted by: JANNA
everytime i log into UO since osi announced these new round of nerfs for my skills i get sick to my stomach. if i wanted EQ i woul be playing with vin in EQ. osi is turning UO into EQ and that makes me want to hurl. i log into UO and i have no motivation to play a game that i know is not going to remain the game i wanted to play. tecil, nova i had no idea that this whole set of changes was coming when i started responding to this thread. im sorry but i dont think i can continue in UO its just lost all flavour for me.
Posted by: Null Actor
Well can I have your house and millions of gold then?
Posted by: Tecil
LOL
Yeah no kidding...hehe
If you have an older veteran account you can fetch a pretty hefty amount for it on e-bay.
On a side note, I would not believe anything in development from OSI. I played from release day up until last summer before and there were many things like that, but never happened. I would believe it when I saw it. If player feedback is bad enough they will not make a move like that. Just look how long it took to implement a virtue system. (IE it still isn't ready)
Posted by: JANNA
sorry nova its been promised to a friend that has been around in uo for the last two years
tecil the changes are going to happen despite any amount of protest.
oh and my total gold is only about 170k
Posted by: Null Actor
They are just going around things the wrong way.
They don't need to nerf bards, they need to make everything else more powerful.
There is no reason why a fighter at max skill can't take down hard enemies by himself, with a little work.
Posted by: Spider
After playing UO for ten minutes the other night I have this irresistable urge to play EverQuest. And it won't go away.
Posted by: JANNA
exactly nova. the problems they cite were created when they put two high end monsters with tons of loot on em in single out of the way locations. ala shadow wyrms. so instead of making dragons unprovokable and removing one of the wyrms they remove barding heh star wars here i come.... least thats the plan right now. ive been tossing around the idea of staying in game and becoming a PK afte the changes but that doesnt have much appeal to me. been trying to convince myself to resurrect BASSMASTER terror of the Abyss (a now defunct shard) and having a go at returning him to the feared pk he once was.
Posted by: EOT(US)
Asks Janna for a loan ...... oh forget it ..... that's just play money! hehe
Posted by: Tecil
Its a lot easier to make money now than it ever was. I used to chop trees and make bows for hours at first.
I had a GM smith that made a lot of bank, but the biggest money maker was the GM fisher.
Now everything drops decent loot.
Posted by: EOT(US)
Janna .....
Like I told you, the other night, that Wolf is giving Siz his UO acct, with house etc ..... if we cancel the acct now ..... because who knows when his house if gonna be finished building *sigh* .... will everything stay in tact, like in EQ, if we cancel acct. ....... until he re-activates it? Do you know?
Wolf now has AO, UO, DAoC, and one more "pay-to-play" game active ..... and "I" want to dump it .... but NOT if the acct. will lose everything before Siz gets it.
Posted by: Tecil
If you cancel the account everything will decay.
Characters are generally deleted after 90 days.
Houses decay much quicker than that but I don't remember the exact time.
I alwasy recommend if you plan on getting out is to either sell your account or give it to someone you know. That way its still available down the road.
Posted by: EOT(US)
Thanks Tecil .... I was afraid of that! I will just charge Siz rent til we give him the game hehe
Posted by: Tecil
Hehe, there you go.
I had a stone tower on pacific that I was leasing out to a guild for use.
Paid my monthy $10 fee.
They ended up buying it from me for $300 when I quit that time.
Posted by: EOT(US)
LOL!
shhhhhh .... I hear the ex-ENRON exec's are looking for something to invest in!
*ADVERTISMENT*
ENRON now has property for lease in Britannia !!
hehe
Posted by: JANNA
if u delete the account now the characters and banked items will stay for 90 dyas the house will poof in 10
Posted by: Tecil
Some of my old guild and I found a castle that was about gone one time. If you click on the sign it will tell you the state that it is in. We camped it for 3 days before it disappeared and dropped all of its contents. Including a couple trapped dragons, tons of loot, and a bunch of balrons. (This was back in the day you could still gate monsters)
Posted by: Tecil
Well I was hoping to GM sword and tact this weekend, but it didn't happen. I bought a new Walther p99 so I went out shooting and wasted a whole day instead.
I should have GM tonight or tomorrow. I'm at 89 on both, and have been hanging out in the bone knight wall.
Janna you'll have to show me how to GM my magery quick like you said. Someone gave me 100k for no reason when I was standing by the Vesper bank. Go figure.
Posted by: JANNA
send me an ICQ tonite and i will meet ya in vesper
Posted by: Tecil
Ok sounds good. I'll be on after 8ish my time. Have to wait till my son goes to bed.
Posted by: JANNA
if u catch me on weekdays ur damn lucky forgot to add that. mostly i play for like an hour to work a single skill on m-thursday. i do most of my playing friday nite sat and sunday. but i always make time to watch Lexx on fridays heh
Posted by: Tecil
Yeah same as me. I'll play my powerhour and then log. I was on for about an hour. Was hoping to GM swords and tact but didn't quite make it.
I will tonight though. Next I'll work on lumberjacking.
Posted by: Darky!
Where the hell are the thieves at?
Anyone know where I can find the thief guildmaster or a thief that trains stealh and hiding?
Posted by: Tecil
What town are you in?
What server?
Posted by: Darky!
Town doesn't matter.
And I'm playing on a free shard
Posted by: Tecil
Ahh in that case I can't help you.
It depends on where the server admins placed the NPCs. I could tell you on an OSI shard.
Posted by: JANNA
yup on OSI shards thief guildmaster is usually at brit bank and train stealth from a NPC ranger just east of the river and at the northern edge of town. but a non OSI shard i have no clue
Posted by: JANNA
Spoke with sizlis last nite on icq and he just took over wolf and ellen's UO account and was moving his junk into their house.
Posted by: Tecil
I got a house yesterday. Someone was selling it for 30k to get rid of it as they just got a bigger one. Its in Fel near Trinsic.
Posted by: Darky!
Whats the easiest/best way to raise magery?
Posted by: Tecil
Cast spells.
go to uo.stratics.com and check out there magery section on how to raise it effectively.

Hey Darky i wont be on Oblivion anymore probablly. got cought for npc killing spree in that town with no guards.
Anyone know a good free shard?

Hmm exactly
Non OSI shard = 15 people logged on
OSI shard = 2000 people

They have a constant 100 but having rules is dumb, "Don't loot, don't PK just say a passing hello! Anything more than that and we'll ban you!"
Posted by: Darky!
PKing is allowed in certain circumstances.
Looting of monsters is allowed, but not players.
And whats a good OSI shard? I'm thinking about trying it agian...
Posted by: Muggs
i was killing people vendors and taking there loot and kinda taking advantage of a bug since there were no guards there.
Oblivion is a good shard but they need to change some of the rules, the other guy that got banned with me was just stealing from nobles which is allowed then the noble attacked him and the auto attack back thing kicked in thats when the GM showed. Things like that should be changed.

That is not PKing. That my friend, is what we call a duel.

And those rules are also out-of-date.
Every week theres an event called survivor Island. Its baisially a big pkfest with monsters.
And you can also pk in the PVP arena.

Spider, I said you CAN PK during certain events, and in the PVP arena.
Theres even an event comeing up thats dedicated to pvp

My point stands.

i prefer osi shards if u wanna PK go to fel if not stay in trammel

not having to contend with no support, constant incessant cheating, and unending interference from losers is worth 9.99$ a month to me. hence i no longer play blizzard games online and play UO instead. i feel i get more than my value for that 9.99$ a month. i payed 19.99$ for the game. 10$ covering the cost fo the CD and manual. 9.99$ for the first month if u care to break the costs down. i fail to see where i am getting ripped off since i am paying for a service that is delivering what they promise even if i dont like some of the chamges they are making to the game itself. i can always quit

There are places that do have support, with no cheaters and every game has its losers
Posted by: Darky!
Oblivion seems fairly controlled. There aren't any cheaters (or atleat none that I can see). And the staff keeps the rules in check. The only problem with it is most of the people on it are 13-15 yr olds who speek the 1337 h4x0r lingo, or act very immatureish.
Wow.
Look at ll those spelling errors. I'm to lazy to fix them ^^

I'm wishing to buy a UO but i dont know which to buy, and i've heard some dont work on Windows XP. Does anyone know which, if any, works on XP?!? And opinions on which UO to try?
Posted by: JANNA
there is only one UO. it doesnt differentiate between OS. as long as u have the updates for XP it should run on it. personally i quit playing UO like 3 weeks ago because they made it too much into a mix of sims online and evercrap.
Posted by: SwizzleStick
Why wouldn't UO work on XP?
Oh yeah, no more powerhour = no more GMs in a day.
Incase any of you didn't hear there is a new add on in the works called Ultima Online: Age of Shadows, you can make you own house and new skills and stuff. Also they are working on a new top/down engine out of the unreal engine. Should be out first quarter of next year.

what i dont like what they have done started with implementing things like power hour and sidelining the ability of people to play evil characters. they have neutered most of the classes along the way with power scrolls and the stupid plant growing system. slowly turning UO into sims online. if what u say is true about this new expansion they might as well call it sims online. before all these changes a person used to be able to adventure alone or in groups now it takes a group to kill a mongbat. im sorry but i hate EQ for what that game is and i detest EA for turning UO into a mix of sims and EQ. there is nothing to really do in the game anymore and the jokes they call quests are lame at best. im sorry but u cant really do questing in a never changing mmorpg world. when uo first started out there were quests and wars and what not that had profound impacts on the world. now the all the quests do is change what spawns where and the players cant really effect what is happening...

Solution: A Good, free UO shard that still does things like OSI used to.
Posted by: JANNA
that isnt a solution. because one of the points of playing UO was having people to play with also. those free shards are ghost towns.

Not all of them are. Some have lots of players, and there are some that have very few.

www.askchopper.com - BL Shard
They will soon/already have a pre UO:R server up and running. That means no Trammel and all the old rules.
I want to say there are like 1300 people signed up, but I dont know. Pretty popular site for anyone who keeps up with UO bugs and exploits so I imagine the server will be really active.

The best shard ive played on ever It's player-run and it's a pure-Rp shard. They use AD&D rules for levelling and stuff so u wont be maxing in 2 days (who says your character isnt playable unless it's GM@d?).
There's always quests going on and some of the cities have decent populations. You will be interacting with almost everbody on the shard because of the small area of civilised places. Most of the world is untamed (it's a new map, completely different frmo Brittania).
It's simply great If ya ever tried to RP on OSI and got bored of all the k3wl d3wds then id direct ya to Teirvon, on the above link.
You have to apply for an account and have a reasonable understanding of what's expected from ya in a rp environ. They put new accounts thru every wednesday and weekends.
It's not stuffy RP. Some of it can be slightly tedious and boring but sometimes it can be a LOT of fun I have only played the shard for about a month and i have many kewl rp stories to tell about what happened to my first character.
Anyways. If any of ya give it a try id be happy to icq ya and help you out.
The downside to the shard is you're only allowed one character - crafters count as one character so if you need armor and the blacksmith's not on you're bummed unless you can find a nice player, which there are many of.

couldnt stand those "rping" folk with all their theeing and thouing.
but as for the chopper stuff a shard run by cheaters for cheaters hmmm....

Bah its great fun and victorian language use isnt a requirement
All the other player shards i played were lame. The one i tried before teirvon had a Mage dressed in pink riding a pink beast called "dakilla". Even none-rp'ers have to hate that Plus i started with 100 in all stats. What's the point of having a character if you start with insane stats and skills anyway? It takes the fun outta it if u ask me.
PS the thing i miss most about OSI is the blacksmithing interface. All the player-run shards ive played give you about 3-5 ore in 1 dig, if successful and they have a little menu that you keep having to go thru every time you want to make one item.
Also i miss my regular playing partners =/

So what your saying is you don't roleplay at all, even though the entire point of the game is to roleplay as your character?
In anycase, RobbyG, you mite want to check out Oblivion. Not everyone there roleplays, there is no skill cap, the population is very small (400 or less) so everyone knows eachother, and the Staff/Dev team isn't lacking, so bugs get fixed rather quickly, before anyone can exploit them.
