System Specs: AMD Athlon 1300mhz
256meg PC133 ram
Windows XP Pro
I don't think starcraft is compatible with XP, I have version 1.09 Broodwar and after playing the icon refuse to go away from my taskbar. Then my comptuer reboots for no reason.
After XP boots up it alerts that my computer encountered a serious error.
I tried using the compatibility mode for ME and 95 but starcraft claims I don't have CD.
Thanks a lot

BW works fine on my WinXp Pro machine. What was the error message you got?

BW works fine on both of my XP Pro boxes also.
Post the error message like Babaroo said.

Theres no error message. After I play, and I close the game the icon refuse to go away from my taskbar.
I start surfing the internet for a solution and my computer reboots for no reason. I guess then Windows starts scandisk or something and after it boots up it says that I have recovered from a serious error.
Let me try again and see what error it is.

try uninstalling it, defraging then reinstalling it.

Okay, I'll try that but does anyone know why if I run the game in compatibility mode it claims I don't have the CD?

Are you running zonealarm as I have the same problem when I play online on battlenet if I run zonealarm but not if i disable it?

yea its a conflict in Zone Alarm Pro, so I shut it down each time I play

zonealarm version 3 appears to fix this problem, at least it does for me

Cool however I read a lot of bad reviews about the initial version of ZA 3 Pro specifically with XP Pro so I don't know.. kinda nervous about upgrading.
