Serious Same The 2nd Encounter

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I picked it up last night. I recommend it if you liked the first one at all. It ownz. They have improved the graphics even more and set a higher bar on the gameplay. Still just a lot of running and shooting Doom style but it's a hoot.

I'll play though it a couple times and maybe post a review. My friends and I are planning on a co-op game this weekend.

Yeah but once in a while we all need some mindless slaughtering.

Installed it at 6:30 the night I bought it, five hours and a few million points later, I finish it on hard.

My only reason for playing sam is the "storyline" itself.

And the pretty locations of course.

I'll try it in some MP, then I'll uninstall (unless the mp is the reeto, but I doubt it).

Posted by: Tecil

The MP is improved over the first, but its nothing to write home about.

I'm going to play through it Co-op this weekend, and the same will probably happen for me.

I play just to hear the wise cracks.

I'll probably grab this game later tonight. The co-op Multiplayer is cool.

I hope they boosted the rocket launcher speed. It's rediculously slow.

Posted by: Tecil

Naw still the same speed.

The sniper rifle is pretty cool though.

Aww man, what's wrong with a Doom clone?

Serious Sam 2 kicks ass. The level and creature design is amazing. The gameplay, my god man, play it for that alone. I don't look to Serious Sam 2 to give me a great story or plot, I play it to be entertained. It's a great visceral experience. Maybe I enjoyed it more because I played through the whole game cooperatively with 4 other people, but I still think it's an excellent single player game and a steal at 20 bucks.

Posted by: Tecil

Yeah I played through it with a friend last weekend. Great game for the $20. Much better than the 1st Encounter. I plan on playing though it again this weekend.

This game is better then many that go for 50 dollars. It is worth the price of admission for the game play alone.

Has anyone tried this co-op game play on a LAN? And if so, does it check for cd-key on LAN?

Posted by: Tecil

There is no cd-key for it. And yes it does work fine on a LAN.

um, i don't know why you guys keep talking about serious sam 2, the title of the thread clearly states "Serious Same The 2nd Encounter" so i don't know where everybody's coming from on this

Yeah it's not the best game ever, but find the hidden egypt level where everything is miniaturized with the prono music playing and ship hanging by a cable and it gets exciting for a bit. that is it is fun until you get back to the level and face slow wave after wave of purple dudes and freaking werebulls...

Posted by: Tecil

Yeah when I posted the thread I did that on purpose. It doesn't offer that much new over the first one. Hence the Serious Same. It is well worth the $20 for it though.
