Mr. Roper on Duping

Planet Diablo has put up an FAQ on Diablo II and duping with Bill Roper. Here's a snip:
PlanetDiablo: Do you think the current situation reflects a hint of what happened on early Battle.Net with the original "Diablo", regarding cheating and duping?
Bill Roper: The amount and severity of hacks and duping in Diablo II is by no stretch of the imagination in the same leagues as what occurred with the original Diablo. We also have many more tools with which to take action against duplicate items and those who are doing the duping.
I wonder how much longer Diablo II will see such support. Diablo was supported for about 5 years. Read the FAQ here.

In my eyes, they stopped supporting Diablo 2/LOD EFFECTIVELY after the first 1.09 patch.

I lost interest in Diablo mainly because too many people cheated so therefore I didn't see a point in playing the game anymore. I don't have Diablo II but I was going to buy it sometime. I find too much hackers totally takes the fun out of playing.

That is funny. I think there are just as many losers cheating and hacking on D2 as there ever was for D1. I tried an online D2 game and noticed lots of strange stuff going on above and beyond the instant leveling up of 100 or so levels that Bnet as lately been known to confer onto some players.

Blizzard just makes it way to easy to cheat in their games in the first place. They should keep an eye on this and maybe ban a few people from Bnet. Or they should at least threaten to, that might convince some people not to, if they really do like the game.

um, chako, thats a bug. the players affected by that arent hacking, they cant even play.

Probably, but I guess for people who don't play that much it isn't all that obvious.
.......just a pointer........
