Sony announced today that they will be offering the Greatest Hits line to the PlayStation 2. Greatest Hits was a line of discounted PlayStation games after they had sold over a million copies. The games were repackaged with the green Greatest Hits sidebar and sold for about half the price.

The PlayStation 2 Greatest Hits game will have a new price tag of $24.99 and will include their own as well as 3rd party titles. The first four, all Sony titles, will include, ATV Offroad fury, Twisted Metal Black, Dark Cloud, and Gran Turismo 3 A-Spec.

A pretty good move here, especially considering the first 4 discounted games are all pretty good. GT3 for $25 is a total bargain. Real cool. read the whole story here at ign

Sony was the first ones to make "Greatest Hits" with the PSX. They are just continuing with the PS2.

"Greatest Hits" were very popular on the PSX. It took old games and made them popular again.

who said they did?

and SKYHN, yeah, Dark Cloud was the one I wanted too. I liked it quite a bit, but the $50 was always too much. $25 seems about right.
