OTS members....
(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)
Posted by: Heathen
Why do people join OTS and never post? I don't understand why they do this.
If you've never posted before... post here and let me know why. LOL Hey I'm just wondering.
I'm nearly at my 100th post .... do I get a prize?
Just joking.... OTS kicks @ss.

A lot of people will register for the forum just go ask a question. When the question is answered, a large portion of these people leave and don't come back except to have another question answered in the future.
Since the staff has a very broad knowledge base, we can generally take care of a problem while requireing very few posts from the new member. So, their post counts stay low - unless they are some of the handful that sticks around and becomes part of the community.
We like new community members. Stick around.

And in response to your signature, doesn't the internet actually fuel masturbation as a leisure activity?

LOL - I never thought of it that way

as someone recently told me, the attachments cannot be viewed without being registered and logged in. which certainly encourages people to do that just so they can read the forums.

If that's so, it's to prevent leeching.
Posted by: Gunslinger
Ok, yeah.
Gunslinger is officially confused.

Hehe, SporkLover has you beat. I think he was on his 100th post the first day he was here.
Posted by: Shalome
He hit 100 within his first 24 hours.. I asked him about it later, and he said that he didn't look at the dates on the threads he was posting on. EVERYTHING looked like a "new thread" because he was new, so he posted to everything.
He thought the board moved really fast or something.
I think he was a bit disappointed to find out the actual pace of posting around here.
Posted by: Tecil
Yeah.
I stay on here most of the day. Just hit refresh now and then.
Posted by: Gerbilo
where is spork?
Posted by: Shalome
Spork got a new job that requires him to actually work, rather than doing night shift tech support where most of the time, he could sit in front of his comp and web surf. His new job is cool.
He's still around, just not as much as he used to be.

well i can allmost guarantee its turned into a leisurely activity
Posted by: Hackenslacker
Wasn't this thread supposed to be able who doesn't post and why?
I don't post, because I have very little to say, and that which I do have to say has already been said.
Actually, I have quite a lot to say, but there are two (2) rules to life:
1) Don't tell everything you know.
Posted by: AK47
You have said too much
Posted by: Spork Lover
Yup my whole 100 post thing was just me resurrecting dead posts...oops Im a bit more learned now.
Gerb... yup I have a new job, so that keeps me busy most of the day.
And I dont post nearly as much as I did before because I have a new job
Posted by: Blackknight
They don't post in hope that they can waste small bytes of computer storage space in a genious plot to take over the world. Where have you been?
Board up your forums! The byte nibblers are coming!
Posted by: Bobaroo
Spork is now down t a 5.78 posts per day, instead of 100 post per day, back when he registered.
Posted by: Xtren
That's crazy, I thought 36 posts in a night was a lot, I have been posting for about a week now and I don't even have a hundred yet. I post pretty frequently too.
Posted by: Gerbilo
if you keep it up it really adds up...
yay for spork... work booo heheh
You gotta come up here sometime spork... then me and AK can bother the hell outta you!

Posted by: taco_fox
I just don't have much to say.
Posted by: Gerbilo
ya xtren... i've been here a long long time... the site used to be black, blue and silver! heheh
Posted by: Blackknight
Hey those are my colors!
Posted by: Gerbilo
I bet laggy has an old screen shot sitting around somewhere or the old layout still uploaded somewhere hehe... we can all see it and remember the goodness that was when laggy wasn't sure whether OTS was gonna make it thru the first few months hehe
Posted by: Xtren
Yeah we should have a look at the old layout again. I haven't been around here very long so that would be..... interesting. Black, blue and silver doesn't sound all that bad though.
Posted by: Gerbilo
it was cool, but the new green owns it
Posted by: Xtren
Can you find a screen of the old layout? I'd really like to see it so if you can find one please post a link if you don't mind.

Ahh yes...old school OTS of blue, black and Silver...I remember those days
Posted by: Xtren
Ummm, with all do respect it couldn't have been that long ago...... try maybe a year and a half.
Then again how long has OTS been up?
Posted by: Bobaroo
about two years? Something Like that.
This Will tell you.
Posted by: Xtren
Yeah it does, you guys did a lot of work, and a good job too!

This was the layout of OTS during its official launch in June 2000
Posted by: Xtren
You know that doesn't look all that bad actually. The green is deffinately an improvement but that is still a good looking layout you used to have.

Then I came and registered 5 months later...I think I only saw the site when it was black/silver/blue once or twice.
Posted by: Xtren
At least you did see it once or twice, a lot of other people didn't (looks away from the monitor).
Posted by: Canis Lupus
We've had a lot of layout revisions since OTS started (probably around 5-6 changes) ... from variations of blue layouts, we switched to variations of green layouts ... maybe I should put up an archive for that - would be fun
Posted by: Xtren
That's a good idea, it's pretty interesting to see things like that and variations between old layouts. It's cool to see what stuff looked like a long time ago.
Posted by: Bobaroo
O yea, the layouts have changed a lot. It has gone from a simple green layout to this more featured green layout. I like the green and black the best and this is the best layout so far.
Laggy works very hard and does a good job with OTS
Posted by: Xtren
Yeah this layout is really good. I'd kind of like to see Project 404 work out some new layout as well, their's is kind of simple. The-Group is unique but I don't really like the colour scheme all that much. I think OTS has the best layout out of those three forums anyway.
Posted by: redwench
oh yes. laggy works hard day and night to make this site what it is. before laggy, there was no internet. worship laggy or burn forever. there are no other sites.

I have to start praising people more often
Posted by: Shalome
Redwench just wants his pelt.
Posted by: redwench
mmmmm, that pelt. to bad he cut his hair, or it would be truly magnificent.
Posted by: Tecil
I should post my pic in the pic post. Give everyone a good laugh.
Posted by: Xtren
I'm sure we all would
Posted by: Gerbilo
AHHHh flashback when looking at that old layout....
I think I registered here before the site was officially up... None of the links worked and there were like 30 members.... I think back then TG still had the all Diablo layout going on. Any one remember that?
Ya, Laggy does an awesome job with all these layouts(cept for that leprechaun baby maybe, that was just plain creepy ).... The staff here has been beefed up considerably as well. Used to be the 4 mods and laggy, and Ion had a time machine(I think he lost it now).
Viva OTS!

My hair is nice, soft and long
Posted by: Gerbilo
you can pick all the bugs out like a monkey!! lol
Posted by: ashw
LOL
Posted by: Xtren
I have hair but I doubt you'd want to pett it. All the gel sticking it all together in one tangly mess, smells of the stench of a dead cat for not being washed for many weeks. That's why I'm a social reject and I don't go anywhere.
-Ok so not all of that is true but it takes a tiny bit of imagination.....
Posted by: Gerbilo
My hair is all spiky!
Posted by: Bobaroo
I shave my head and wear a hat.
Posted by: Xtren
Hehe, I guess part of what I said earlier is true, I do use a lot of gel. I don't spike my hair but I can't imagine shaving my head.
-Not to be offending anyone.
Posted by: Muggs
bothering with your hair is for women
men should just let it do whatever it wants and at most put a hat on
Posted by: Xtren
I don't like wearing a hat, I like to be creative with my hairstyle. Besides when things start laying around for a while they start to get lazy, same thing with hair.
Posted by: Erekose
well i have been tod time and again i should let my hair grow out (from red mostly) but it gets to a point where i know if i let it grow longer it will be fine, but it just aggravates me as it is. so i asked someones opinion and she told me to go with what ive got now (basically a brushcut) but i may just let it grow out from here, kinda always wanted long hair and now i can grow it out if i want to
Posted by: Xtren
I wouldn't want to have long hair. I keep mine short, just that it's always hard to make something of it anyway. Takes me forever to get it how I like it. Sometimes I really screw it up though and people tell me it looks good. It just all goes to show how opinions vary.

I use to use a ton of gel in my hair, then when I got to High School and I was allowed to wear hats in school, I never used Gel again. I like getting up 5 minutes before class starts throwing on a hat and leaving, I don't have to take 10 minutes on my hair anymore
Posted by: Xtren
Hehe, I prefer to be prepared ahead of time...... besides my hair is just plain awful when I wake up
