I think it will be pretty good. I wont go see it at the movies though, DVD has ruined going to the movies for me.
I would have rather had the characters and story be like in RE1 or RE2 though. Theres also a nude scene in the movie, which sorta doesnt belong in RE, but I guess its ok(its mila jolovich so its more than ok ).

Putting in that option doesn't require telepathy, just knowledge of how most people think. Not everyody is like nova (prejudiced against video game movies), nor are they like some people who will go just because it's called RE.

should be horror/suspense.... I think they are trying to get it geared as your typical action film to get lotsa ppl to see it but not caring about the quality.

i dunno, i try not to go into movies with any expectations anymore. but im going to see it today around 6ish i think, afterwards me and my friends are going to go play ctf in an abandoned amusement park

when playing with paintball markers (or any instrument that hurls projectiles at high velocity with the intent of scoring a strike on another person) be sure to wear/use any and all saftey equipment. nearly went blind in one eye last night when a friend lost his footing whilst aiming and struck me in the eye. (no worries, i kicked him a good one in the shins afterwards :P)

haha a friend of mine got shot in the eye playing paint ball, the idiot stood up in the middle of the field and took his mask off and 2 seconds later dropped to the ground screaming.

a little update. saw the movie, liked it alot, waiting for the next one (and damnit there had better be a next one). i personally think they handled it very well.
eyes fine now in case anyone cared, just some brusing/cuts around the socket and the fact that until this morning it felt as if i had a few wads of cotton stuck in the sinus under that eye. ah well live and learn

I saw it as well. Better than I thought it would be but nothing excellent. I liked the bits of the story that they stuck to and it was left wide open to make the rest of the series, but I'm not sure if they will.... By the ending you know what happened and if you played the games it's the same thing... you know already.
I'd say go see it if you are into the games and have seen "We Were Soldiers" already

WARNING! POSSIBLE SPLOILERS IN THIS POST.
Too much running. Not enough killing. It turned into a "Let's see which one of us will get out of here alive unscathed" type of movies (like we haven't seen those before; how the hell did Milla manage to do that anyway?). They were running like scared little children. I was hoping to see some zombie killing action. Chainsaws, axes, flamethrowers, stuff like that. Instead I see a bunch of Umbrella employees breaking into one of their own facilities like they were a bunch of crooks just so they could reboot a computer that was doing it's job. Then proceed to lose people from the group one by one in various ways as they try to escape from the bowels of the facility.
Bleh. Cool looking sets and pretty special effects were great, but the overall premise blowed chunks.
I thought it was funny that Milla finally got a hold of a shotgun at the end of the movie.
How many FPS do you think that mainframe would get in Q3A test or any other benchmark? lol

Zombies are such pop-culture. Everyone knows what one is. I think the pop-out-and-scare-you stuff was overdone. It didn't really capture the creepiness of the games, which is what horror movies today lack. They go for the cheap thrill and not the whacked out there WTFness of games like Silent Hill. Now that was spooky.
Needless to say, I liked the movie overall, but that may be because I have such a soft spot for the beautiful Milla Jovovich.

yeah milla jovovich is defeinitely an attractive woman, and more so she can actually act (well it's my opinion and i aint about to change it anytime soon) but as for whether the movie was creepy, nah not really. haven't seen many that truly were creepy. silent hill 2 on the other hand, heh imagine my father, my sister's boyfriend, and i staying up late (2 or 3 am) playing the game screaming like school girls trying to peer through that damning fog  ... now that is a game! oh i so can't wait to play through it again (i guess there are 4 other endings i have to unlock, good. i hate games with little/no replay appeal) guess i'll start as soon as the nightmares stop. to this day if i want to wake up all i have to do is set the alarum to a staticy station

I hate to bump a March thread, but I finnaly got to see the movie tonight(DVD).
I must say, this movie was f*cking awesome. I really hope they make another one, since they hint at one durring the end of the movie. I really liked the ending too. I thought the zombies were done quite well also, although I was a little dissappointed there werent any zombie moans like on the game, only hissing. A++
They should make this movie into a game

The DVD has some cool stuff on it. Theres some zomibe tests, where you can see zombies up close when they were testing the makeup and movements. And theres also a whole making of the movie thing on it too.
The curse of games made into movies has been broken.

ofcourse...i wasn't physically going to steal you dvd copy or somehow magically stop anyone from making a "streetfighter 4 ken's revenge" but i have always had a problem with video game gone movie. is l.a. so hard up for script writers that they need to grab the lame story lines from video games. though if you enjoyed by all means don't listen to me, not that you would have anyway...

FF movie was alright.
It wasn't the only "game to movie" movie, there was also Mortal Kombat, Mortal Kombat 2, Resident evil (guess what this thread is about ), and umm... there are more but I can't think of them right now

I actually bought the VCD of MK1 (in a real store, not a bootleg or something), it's my only real VCD, Those things died within a few months

hah. Yeah, I didn't go see MK2 because I heard they replaced Christopher Lambert as Rayden, I waited until TNT was playing it nonstop and saw it then. The Rayden in the second was quite the gimp.
