DLL error when launching AIM !?!!?

Hello, this is my 1st post, I hope you can help me.
Using NT 4.0 sp 6a, when trying to launch aol IM get "Initialization of the dynamic link library c:\winnt\sys32\rasman.dll failed. App is terminating abnormally.
Then dr. watson pops up and dumps to a log file.
do i need to replace the rasman.dll ? edit the registry?
please help,
