Finnaly got to play

This game is awesome.
I was skeptic about it, but after playing its going on my must buy list. The heros are really cool. So are the goblins and other monsters that are on the map that you can kill for exp and treasure. And day and night is pretty cool too, havent seen that in an RTS before.
The graphics and sound are A++. Even with my POS TnT2 card, I had no slowdown at 1024x768@16 except when there were a whole lot of guys fighting on the screen.
The only thing I didnt like was in the game I played, my friend used the night elves(i think) and built guard towers all around his base. That was kinda cheap. But that is strategy, if you can call it that.
I look forward to destroying you all on bnet!

Finnaly found a race I like: Night Elves.
Pretty cool how the archers can ride the Chimeras. Treants are nice too.

There's some custom maps available at www.war3pub.net you might want to check out. The actual layout of the maps are the same as the default beta maps, but the tilesets have been modified in a few, as well as additional creeps in a specific one called NeutralZone (good for playing with Heroes). This map also features rain, which is really cool. We should also expect to see other weather effects like snow too.

I got to play too. I was kind of disapointed. Im getting bored of it already after only having it a week. Whats the undead unit for mindcontrolling? and 2 night elves are almost impossible to beat if you dont rush.

I use to play with the nigheleves, then I realized that they were to cheap, and I tried out new races.

You give the sound an A++?
When I was listening to my brother play the game while I was in another room the fighting sounded like metal drawers opening and closing. The sound is decent when you are actually playing the game and imagining that the sound is actually the clashing of swords.
I am getting bored of this game after 2 weeks of playing, and the new patch doesn't sound any fun.

Yeah your right spider. Ive only played about 10 games so I havent gotten every name down.
I downloaded almost all the maps on War3pub. The single player ones are pretty good. One of them lets you be 2 races.
I think the sound is excellent. I found myself actually wanting to have the music on. And regular sound effects are great. I dont know what you mean by "metal drawers opening and closing". They sound like swords hitting armor to me.
You may not have the right sound mode on. Theres 4 different ones. The EAX one is best. I was playing with just the regular 3D sound before, then when I went to a friends house using EAX and played on his Audigy/5 Digital Speaker Setup, the sound was much chrisper and had all the effects that EAX can do.
One thing Im wondering about the final version of the game, do you think when people make "Use Map Settings" type maps(Which are my favorite kind), will they be able to raise the unit limit higher than 90? There are many use map settings maps that I know will be redone for WCIII and 90 units for each player may not be enough(if you can even get 90 with 90 food).
