W2K Server Config, Active Directory Installation Failed

Installing W2K server, the first server on the network, to be setup as a local server only. After the initial install, during the "Configure Your Server" automatic configuration, the following error occurs:
"Active Directory Installation Failed. The network location cannot be reached. See Windows Help."
I'm not able to get through the automatic configuration process. Any suggestions on what is causing this error?
