filename too long

I recently downloaded a file, which has an incredibly long name. I can't delete it, rename it (to something shorter), move it, copy and paste it, open it, or anything. All I get is the filename is too long error.
This is on windows 98 se.

Try changing the name of it or deleting it in dos.

Yeah. Run a virus scan. Windows 98 should be able to deal with file names that aren't truncated.
Sounds fishy.
