Creative Technology acquires 3D Labs.

Announced in Singapore, Creative Technology, makers of the world famous Sound Blaster technology and other computer peripherals will pay US$103.7 million in a cash and share deal to buy graphics card maker 3D Labs. 3D Labs is well known for its high-end graphics solutions for workstations in the digital content creation and visualization markets.
According to Sim Wong Hoo, CEO of Creative, the acquisition of 3d labs will give Creative the technology the company has been lacking in the past.

Creative never impressed me that much. Unfortunately there's not many sound cards to choose from.

They do make a decent product though although it isn't innovative.
We do need some competition out there for sound cards.
