ICQ Problem

Ive had ICQ for a long time, but never really used it. Now I need to use it to communicate with a few people. But im having a problem.
If I have the sounds on, ICQ runs extremely slow. Like I will type normally, the sounds for typing will partially play skipping a few here and there, then my text will come up but really slow. Is this a common problem?

You could always try Trillian.
Works with ICQ, AIM, YIM, MSN, and IRC.
Just an idea if you want something different.

Mine does that if I type fast with the sounds on. Just turn the typing sound off. It's annoying anyway.

I turned the typing sounds off and its flying now. I did that about 2 mins after I posted and I was too tired to post again.
