Buffers and Files under XP Home?

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Posted by: Sarc

Nevermind, turns out good ol' Symantec Anti-Virus' Auto-Protect was bogging down the whole thing. Man, I hate Symantec's programs.

We've got a laptop running WinXP Home, it's running one of my companies programs very slowly.

The author's tech support suggests increasing XP Home's "buffers and files".

I knew how to do this in Win9X, but I don't know if WinXP would even look at the autoexec.bat or config.sys.

Where would I find these settings if their even available in XP?

Thanks guys.
