I wouldn't be too jealous, rockjock.. that's what they're referring to as a "bugged" item. It's a hack.

It's a new hack going around -- "black" items, "bugged" items. It's on closed, unfortunately.

ok i may sound a bit stupid but on that pic of the sword in the inventory wats that item in the BOTTOM RIGHT taking 1x1 space ive never seen it before.

I didn't look that close to see the url. I just noticed the ith (6) at the top of the swords description and figured it was a six socket sword. I had thought that there might be a new rune word.
I play the game for fun with friends or alone. We usually run a password game on closed to avoid the PK's and hackers. Beating the game isn't a criteria so I am not up to date on hacks etc. I'll go back in my hole now.

I'm guessing this screenshot was taken from open battle.net. With character/item editors you can import things that aren't normally in the game, but are still in the game data (ie the Black Tower Key and those damn elixers). I believe that's gold in the picture.

ok if you guys dont think these are real i will take a ss of an "ITH" bow a friend has it on USEast closed when i see him on next.
ITH's were made by removing rune words with a hack then resocketed and i think repeated.
The method to do this is not new, it is actually patched.

I'm pretty sure all you need to do to change pictures for items is edit either the memory loacaiton pointing to the picture, or the MPQ file itself. Either of these are easily done with a program if someone took out 5 minutes to figure out how.
I wouldn't be at all amazed if one of the current 3rd party programs does this.
