D2:LOD on Mac OX -- bar/highlight issue

I have a fresh install of D:LOD on my new OS X mac. It runs fine, but has the following display problems:
-There is no bar for stamina or experience (ie they look empty).
-Similarly, there is no health bar for targeted enemies (ie it looks like they have no health).
-My hireling shows a full-health bar over his picture, but if he takes damage the bar disappears.
-Holding option down and pointing at an item does not result in a highlight box around its name.
-Items pointed at in inventory show their description without a highlight box.
These problems are unchanged in 640x480 and 600x800 mode.
Is this a known issue? Is there a known fix? I'm aware there's a patch for OS X coming out "real soon now", but older mac apps are just supposed to work in Classic Mode, so this should be fixable!

Don't know a whole lot about macs, but if you have an older version, like 8 or 9, try using that instead. Also, have you tried updating drivers or anything? (Or does this not happen on macs?)
