Install problem

Well, there aren't any tech support forums, so i hope someone will
read this. I'm trying to install D2X, but the splash screen says
it's not installed. The game IS installed on a secondary hard
drive, but i'm not sure what's causing the error.

my OS is win98SE

Never fear, Commander Vimes, this whole place is a tech support forum!

The startup file on your game seems to be looking to your primary drive rather than your secondary drive for game data. I'm sure as soon as some of the more win-proficient staff members read your post, they'll let you know how to point your game to the correct drive.

You'll want to check the following registry folders to see if they're pointing to the proper install directories:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Blizzard Entertainment\Diablo II
and
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Blizzard Entertainment\Diablo II
If anything there isn't right path-wise, fix it to point where it should.
To run the registry editor, click the start button, click on run, type in regedit, and press the "OK" or enter on your keyboard. Always back up things you will change before you edit them with the file -> export command from the menu.
