Zoded items that break help?!?

Hi i am a faithful d2 player i have been playin for 7 onths now and have never seen any thing like this. I had an etheral barannas star that i wanted to put a zod rune in so i went through great expense to get one. I finally got one a socket the star. At the time it asnt broken it still had 70 something durability. I zoded it and noticed that it didnt say it was indestructable so i went and tried it out and the fist hit it broke i still have it i want to know what happend plz help thx

Was this on Open Battle.net? If so, then its entirely possible that someone gave you a "fake" Zod rune. It would be a pretty nasty scam.
I've never heard of this happening before, and I can't find anyone else who has had this problem.
