This whole week has been terrible!

List of events that have happened this week(Starting last Monday and Including today):

Milton Berile Died
Dudley Moore Died
Britains Queen Mother Died
5 Suicide Bombings in Israel/Palestine
A large train crash(Cant remember where it was)
A bus load of senior citizens colides with a truck killing many
A former Sheriff Murders his 4 children while his ex-wife is out for her morning jog(6 miles from my hometown)
Britney Spears and Justin Timberlakes breakup(let me explain)

What in the hell is wrong with the world?

Now let me explain about the britney spears thing. Several shows I saw this week had the Britney Spears Breakup(which i think turned out to be fake) on BEFORE the stories about the 2 actors deaths. That is just plain sad.

And speaking of the queen mother's death, CNN had a graphic for the event and it said "Queen Mother DEAD". Is it just me, or does that seem a bit rude? They had queen mother written small and DEAD was huge. Putting her birth date and death date would have been better than putting DEAD in huge letters.

When people die it all seems to happen at the same time. Princess Diana died the same week as Mother Theresa. Oh and by the way, two people that I know died this week as well.

a) the queen mum died, not the queen of england
b) if you read nonamerican news carefully, youd see that there is a large bus/train crash somewhere in the world almost every day. this one was in spain, btw.
c) both dudley and milty were known to be dying, so it didnt come as a surprise
d) im not going to touch the israel/palestine thing
e) people are just plain ****ed up. who cares about britney and justin?

Posted by: Xtren

Yeah I never noticed the part where he put Queen of England, he probably just made a mistake.

On a personal note, my boss's manager was laid-off earlier this week.

*Kdr Kane dusts off his resume.*

I wonder how many bad things have happened in total if we add all of them up....

Posted by: redwench

probably about the same number as there are good things

Posted by: Nfested

Sad things happen everyday. This was a good week for me though.

Posted by: Xtren

Yeah but the Queen's mother doesn't die every day so we should pay that fact some respect.

Posted by: redwench

she was 101. and was sick. big shock.

Ummm...that day was no different then any other day. People live..people die. Things happen, or they don't. It matters little in the grander scheme of things.

Skhyn...watch the fun that ensues when the British people finish mourning the Queen's mother. Everyone knows that the Queen's mother was loved tremendously. I think she was the mortar holding her daughters crown up.

Only time will tell. I do know though that the Queen right now is about as popular as Margreth Thatcher (spelling off?) towards the end of her power.

My step grandpa had a stroke and my grandma had a bad stomach infection. They are all right now though so its all good

If we didn't have bad weeks, we wouldn't appreciate the good ones as much.

Posted by: SKYHN

I was talking about stuff here that made national news. Mainly CNN/Fox News.

BTW: I made the necessary "Queen Mother" corrections.

Posted by: Xtren

It is still a major event though, this stuff doesn't happen every day. Good point though by Ion Silverbolt.

How can a single britney be such a bad thing?

Posted by: Shalome

Bad thing that happened this week in my hometown:

Mom called me to tell me one of my childhood friends had been shot and killed.. by a cop. The cop unloaded four slugs -- not pellets -- from a pump action shotgun. Reason? The guy was driving a truck straight towards the cop (stupid, stupid kid, was in a lot of trouble already apparently). The officer claimed he had to shoot in self defense to keep from being hit.

4 rounds from a pump action shotgun. If the cop had time to do that, he had time to get out of the way. The cop is now in a lot of trouble.

*shakes head sadly*

Exactly what I was going to say.

Damn stupid cops.

why is the the british monarchy in the news at all for anything? THey dont do anything special and they have no real power.

and the bad thing about Spears being single is they talk about it all day like people actually care

Posted by: Xtren

The monarchy didn't do all that much for Canada, at least not lately. The Queen's mother was 101 years old and she had been having serious health problems since Christmas. Therefore you could probably see this coming.

4 slugs? damn, now i could see maybe one in the engine block, one at the drive then dive for cover, but 4 at the driver is just nuts. now i work for the police, i have friends that are cops and even they would prolly say that just aint right. then again im basing my judgement on a story ive been told by someone who prolly heard it from someone else, who may not even have been there to actually witness it (not saying they are wrong/lying/etc, just that its rather hard to be accurate as to what happened when im receiving the information that far removed)... but 4 slugs?

Posted by: Xtren

Yeah that is pretty crazy. I've never heard of something like that happening before.

This might sound cold and harsh but i really don't care about the queen mum dying, at least, not any more than I care about anyone dying... I get so utterly sick of the media attention the royal family get...

And did you guys hear the news that Margaret Thatcher had a stroke and lost her voice? She can't speak at all anymore... Wierd twist of fate if you ask me.

Posted by: Null Actor

Cold and harsh that you don't give a rats ass about someone you didn't know dying?

Not likely.

I think it's absolutely pathetic that people can be 'sad' that a media figure is dead. Sorry, but you didn't know them, and they certainly didn't know, or care, about you.

im far from a fan of any type of royalty but the queen mother of england was a truly great person. she did a lot for her country especially in WW2. despite the desires of the british government she refused to leave england during the war even when hitler threatened invasion and instead toured the country raising the spirits and hopes of the entire nation. she did not shy away from the vast destruction brought on by the luftwaffe and even when buckingham was bombed she refused to change her routines to show her people that their leadership were not cowards. this alone was a huge boost to the morale of the english people and my heartfelt condolences go to them and to the queen mother of england may she rest in peace long live the queen.

Whether it's a media figure or not, it's still a preson dying. Their deathshould be treated in the same way as anybody elses. Just because this person was born royal doesn't mean that he/she is in anyway more improtant than anyone else. A lot of people don't see it that way. The Royal Family is a perfect example because no one that belongs to that family actually had to work to be royal. A president or a Prme Minister on the other hand has to study his whole life to acheive his goal. Royal Family members just have to get together and have kids.
