"Starcraft" Minor Annoyance (please help)

It only seems to happen when i am playing a multiplayer game. The game usually starts fine, but when i am under attack, and am about to fight back, the game closes and i get an error saying:
".......The problem occurred while trying to load a file
sound\Protoss\Corsair\PCorlasr2.wav
The program issued a command but the
command length is incorrect."
after this, i get another standard error saying "...Starcraft performed an illegall opperation and will be shutdown....". I happened to look at the details the last time it happened, so if they are any help in fixing this, here they are:
STARCRAFT caused an invalid page fault in
module SMACKW32.DLL at 0167:10005b66.

any idea on what i should do to fix this?
P.S. i tried to use the PCinfo program suggested by Canis, but after downloading it 10 times i still get:
"Extracting mvPCinfo.exe
bad CRC 09ccce94 (should be b5cb0478)
Warning: the size of the extracted file (340297) does not match the uncompressed size (340291) recorded"
and so i cannot run the utility, sorry.

Uninstalled starcraft completely, run scandisk, and reinstall it.

I think a virusscan wouldn't hurt either.
