Read Error on StarCraft

I have a retail version of Starcraft, which works (or atleast did at one time). I've recently got back into PC gaming (SW:JK2, Q2, SC), but I get a "File Read Error" on SC everytime I try to play it. Something about not being able to detect the CD in the CD-Rom drive, I figured it was just a normal problem so I checked all of www.blizzard.com for support, well its all failed to help.

I've try installing SC on all 3 of the computers in the house, all give me the same error.

I just want to know if there is a file I need or a something, but for now all I can do is install Spawn and join games with a friend (whom's CD Key I have to use to play with, btw)

(I couldn't get "My PC Info" to un-zip correctly, or I would post my computer specs)

233 mhz
64 Ram

(thats all I can tell ya)

You may already have a scratched CD or something ... try cleaning the CD (wipe it with a clean, dry cloth ... not in a circular motion, but in a straight motion from the center to the edge).

If that does not solve it, then your CD may be too scratched already ... in which case you would need to send it back to Blizzard for an exchange or buy a new CD from the store...

Stick around for more suggestions...

Thanks, I've cleaned it and decided to make a back-up, and still not working. The game has no scratches (had some dust on it -.-; but its alright now, I just find it odd that I can install the Spawn with no problems and play, but not the full install, is there a simple fix for this? A bad file on my computer that might cause this? Also when I try to run the "full version" the computer doesn't even seem to look for a CD-Rom drive... it just keeps giving me the error and "Ok"/"Exit"
