OTS and Dungeon Seige

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Okay I believe someone said Dungeon Siege multi is through Gamespy (not 100% sure this is the one). I would like to suggest a procedure so that we can try to establish some sort of community online since it appears as though several of us will be purchasing this game.

I know very little about Gamespy but it looks as though you can set up your own room and game. As far as I can tell the room can't be passworded but the game can (again not 100% sure about the room).

In any case maybe we can make the room OTS and then come up with 6 or so game names with passwords we can all use when online. What do you all think of this or don't you really care?

Its through MSN Zone Match
Not GameSpy
Anything gamespy touches turns to shit

It'd be nice if All-Seeing-Eye added support for DS, however there is no chat function for ASE, it's just IP look up and go. But I'm all for some kind of OTS server or chat room or something for getting games going together.

Oh and someone move this to the DS forum

Dear god I hope you dont have to play it through Gamespy. Gamespy is crap crap crap.

Oops, didn't see the Dungeon Seige Forum. Hopefully someone can move it there or I'll just repost.

Try Gamespy3D or whatever it is, Arcade is crap, GS3D or whatever is actually pretty decent. But I prefer my ASE. (Oh and the GS3D, I know you're supposed to pay for it, but just download the trial, it's the same thing and there is no expiration.)

Well, if we can arrange it somewhere on the site where we can post our IP address for games in progress, that would be cool. IP games will most likely run better than using the Zone.

It's a pretty fun game. I'd like to get together and play with everyone here. More fun that way.

....and just wait a little while too. I doubt it will be long before someone successfully emulates the server environment. It is even possible with a look up and go game.

You can play IP to IP? Well that would be much better I believe. So now we need a way of communicating IP addresses. I don't mind sharing mine with the regulars here but I'd prefer not to post it on the net. Any ideas? Does everyone use ICQ; or maybe a passworded server where we can all send Laggy our addresses (assuming they are static)? Hmm.

And the game remembers IP address too, so once you have them you have them. As long as they're static.

This game ****ing OWNS. The graphics are awsome and the Evironmental audio is top knotch! Anyone with a set of Klipsch's will LOVE it.

Dang, it is Dungeon Siege. I think I too have spelled it incorrectly numerous times. Ack!

Well, just for beginners if anyone wants to send me their IPs via ICQ or wants to play you can reach me at 6702028. Include your e-mail and I'll put together a list of all the static IPs and distribute to all those who are interested. I will not share any information without each individuals consent, so if you want your info to be included in a distributed list please state that that is okay. Hope to hear from many of you.
