Motherboard Mania

First off, i'd like to point out a board thats from Soltek and based on the VIA KT333 chipset. Soltek is not well known in the States, but produces some great price for performance boards. The Soltek SL-75DRV5 happens to be one of these. If you are looking for a cheap, yet still high performance Athlon motherboard, this is worth a look. Read a couple reviews at Motherboards.org and AmdMb.com. Thanks to Memnoch for the links.

The Tech Report has their review up on Abit's new "legacy free" AT7 MAX. This board is rid of the old parallel ports, serial ports, and ISA slots. Instead, it offers 6 USB ports, 2 firewire ports, a 10/100 ethernet port, and 4 IDE RAID connections with an additional 2 regular IDE connections. With these features, Abit has also cut the PCI ports to 3. Check out the review here.

SubZeroTech has taken a look at Asus's new P4S533. This board is designed to reach speeds of 533 MHz FSB and handle DDR 333 RAM. The board is lacking in features, but fairs very well in performance. The review is here.

That AT7 MAX would be nice if it had more than 3 PCI slots >_<
5 would be the perfect fit to make it my #1 choice for a board.
