Safty Regulations - My little sad rant.

I placed this article here. For a number of reasons...Manily I just needed to work out some thoughts.
My 33 cousin, and one of his fellow emploies were killed this morning. (Plus one serisouly injured). Because of neglagance on the job site..... Someone placed some highly flameable gas in an air tight shed...This gas. Which is used to fuel the high heat torchs on the job site. They were building on to a university and need them to cut the heavy steel. This stuff is suppose to be stored in an open area, or area where vents are supplied. He went in to the shed...at around 7:00 Central time this moring. And flicked on the light. The explosion that it cause blew the door off which in turn hit him and knocked him 100 feet from where the shed stood. The blast was so big that the air flow from it broke the glass of windows in buildings over 100 yrds away.
Everone is taking it as best as they can. But it irks me. These checmicals were very wrongly stored in a place that they should not even have been thought to be....
It just hurts that one jobs "corner cutting" has gotten one of my blood killed, and another. I mean where are the freaking state building inspectors and job site expectors that are suppose to be around?
My cousin has two kids that he has to take care of and was playing over 1,000 dollers of child support each month to there mothers.
Just when life seems that its about to pick up for me and my family..something else comes along. So excuse me for this rant...Im sorry...Just needed to get some thoughts stright...

Your cousins family should be able to own that place after that dispicable display of irresponsability. If no one hasn't taken actions yet, a call to OSHA is in order.
Something as dangerous as what happened there might leave them with a fine they can't pay.

its an understandable and easy mistake for someone untrained to make. that doesnt let the company off the hook, however. id suggest that the mothers of his children retain attorneys pronto. and start the paperwork on the life insurance. has to be done now, unfortuantely. it really cant wait.

What a waste! It is quite revolting that people make mistakes which lead to severe injuries or even death. I am very sorry this happened.

My condolences DemonBob, to the family.
It is sad that such accidents happen through gross negligence or stupidity. I would pursue the matter of restitution to its fullest satisfaction..if there can be any after this incident.

Thanx for all the support guys. It really helped to look back and see how much ppl care. As of now OSHA was there, and from the rumors. A major investagation was underway an hour after it happened, and still going on.
I was able to get enough info out of the cops to find out what the gas was....Right now they are letting no one near where it happened. It was acetylene...used mainly for welding...
