Shuttle's Barebones SS50

Hardware-test.dk has reviewed the Shuttle SS50 barebone system which uses SiS's 650 Northbridge and 961 Southbridge. The case is very small, but can fit virtually anywhere and provide a cost-effective computer for basic web and office work:

Due to the compressed component compilation you have to be very considerate if you are going to criticize it. The first time you see the inside of the SS50 you might wonder how you are going to put the hard drive, floppy drive and CD-ROM drive inside it. Since you are also going to have to install a CPU with a cooler and the RAM. What about the cables? Well I can say a much that when you have the SS50 fully installed there isn’t a lot of room left. But it is used to its full extent. If there hadn’t been a 80mm fan to suck out the hot air, I would have to question the SS50s ability to survive in a warm office. The layout couldn’t have been better and I am especially impressed with the compact power source that is able to give 160W.

The only place the system really fails is in 3D performance. Read more here.
