Hello all I'm upgrading a Packard Bell Axcel 2410 With an Agoura/Wildcat MoBo PB600, Phoenix Bios 4.04 66Mhz Bus Frequency Pentium 75Mhz processor(Socket5) 600 MB HD WIn95 1st ed. I am upgrading the processor via evergreen tech with a Spectra400 upgrade kit also I am adding a WD 10GB HD to replace the Old HD increasing the Ram 32MB's to add to already 40MB's that it has now.Question I have is where do I start Do I do the Processor first then Ram then the new HD then Win98(which is what I'm going to)The reason i"m asking is that evergreen says the Spectra400 does not work well Win 95 1st ed.SOdoes anyone have an idea of what order I should go with my upgrade madness here let me know if I left anything out Thanks for any help in advance

If cost is the primary issue, then I'd start with the OS.
No need in spending your hard earned dough on a processor you can't use if the OS doesn't support it.
After that, it kind of falls back to your budget and to what you need to upgrade.
If your just looking to upgrade your system as a whole, those parts will upgrade it. Though, unless your getting them for a good deal, not by very much. So I'd just start getting what you can afford. Maybe try for the RAM and the H.D. first.
If your stressing the system, it all depends on what is going on. Obviously, if you're running out of H.D. space, get the new H.D. first.
If you're alright on space for a while longer, but are having many programs open all at the same time and seeing speed issues, I'd go for the RAM and the Processor first, of-course, this would require the OS as well.
Just my 2 cents though.
How much are all those parts going to cost you anyway?

Hey guys I have a Pentium 90Mhz

I always wondered why everyone in socket 5 could upgrade and not me.....
Plus If anyone can help me increase a little bit of Mhz
I could go to Win98 like WEB though me I have added some RAM and I have right now this setup :
96 MB RAM
Pentium 90 Sock. 5 (wanna change it)
Intel i430FX
Award software BIOS
4X CDROM
Cirrus Logic 5434
two Seagates at 1.5 GB each.
For internet I got a 14.4 Fax modem , SMC EZ 1208T CARD (PCI)
ISA SOund Blaster Awe 32 16 binary digit (Bit)
Thx for reading this far thoguh u wont need all dis info lol
Anyvvay I would really appreciate if you guys could finally get a way to eliminate the 90Mhz "unboostable"
issue.! !! thx!
Also at worse I could maybe keep Win95 C cause its pretty good.
I was also thinking maybe it is my mobo and not the CPU
Thx!
