Beta Patch 1.09b is out

I havent gotten a chance to try it yet. Its a really small file, less than 300k.

The file in that link is not the actual patch but a program that tells your copy of DS to download the patch automatically from Zonematch. So you run that little prog, then logon to zonematch.
If you have Auto Sign-in on, when the screen that says "Signing In" comes up, just hit cancel. Beta Patch players are seperated from v1.0 players, so your username wont be valid.
Anyways, just giving some instructions in case you cant figure it out. Im about to try the game now with the beta patch.
BTW: It takes a long time to install it.

GAH! Im reinstalling DS as we speak. This patch has locked me up 2x, Ive never locked up before on DS until now.
I think Ill wait til a final patch is out.

anyone want to tell me something useful it fixed?
because to me its worthless
it doesnt fix any of the gameplay problems the game has
i was probably expecting too much - but not even one useful change :\

The patch also desables veteran and elite modes of play.

untrue ... the Zonematch interface has improved considerably and I am now more comfortable of going in there and joining or creating a game...
As for the other changes, I haven't really noticed ... still waiting for the final patch so we can finally use the Siege Editor maps...

I DL'd the patch last night and now can't run anything on single or multi. ZoneMatch, Internet are both coming up with map loading errors.
Guess I'm going to reinstall when I get home...

well, i never play on zone match so thats not useful to me so pfft ;D
but anyways
theres so many other things that should be patch too that this is a sad patch

To me this patch is virtually useless. The only thing that helps is the Zone interface and maybe some better framerates. But they patched absolutely nothing regarding gameplay, which is my opinion is pathetic. That and screwing up the veteran and elite modes make this patch total crap. I am extremely disappointed in this patch and if the gameplay issues are not addressed soon I will be giving this game up. There are way too many issues with gameplay to just to let them go.
