'Player not found' - this is the message I have got for the last 24hrs when I try to use one of my characters. I can use all the others but not this one, although I can see it on screen. Have tried contacting blizzard - no joy! Any advice? Anyone else with this problem?

This is Very common. Almost everyone faces this problem sometime. Most of the time, the problem will fix itself after a while, you just have to be patient. Also, during weekends, a lot of people use battle.net, which contributes to the large amount of weekend-errors. You can not expect an answer to your mail within 24 hours if you mail Blizz support during the weekend, but be patient. They will probably answer it soon.

Here is another thing you might want to try:
Click on Start then Run
Type "regedit" and click OK
Click on the + icon beside the "HKey_Local_Machine" branch
Click on the + icon beside the "Software" branch
Select the "Battle.net" branch and press the delete key
Click on the + icon beside the "HKey_Current_User" branch
Click on the + icon beside the "Software" branch
Select the "Battle.net" branch and press the delete key

Delete the "bncache.dat" file in your Diablo directory.
Delete the realm folder in "save" (Either Save\USEast or Save\USWest or Save\Europe) in your Diablo directory. (Make sure no Single-Player characters get deleted.)

You may also want to reboot your computer, since that seems to help sometimes.

The last resort to solve this issue is to fill in the character relink form here:

Thanx for the advice but unfortunately I still can't access my character, oh well - time to find a new computer game.

This is a server problem that Blizzard knows about. If your character doesn't reappear in a few days, just email them and let them know what happened.

You don't have to give up on a game just because the server is screwed up for a few days. There are many, many better reasons to stop playing Diablo II.

Its still not there - am no longer a happy bunny. I really want my character back - its my birthday soon so that would be a very nice present. C'mon Blizzard, pull finger from rear and sort it out. Please.

E-mail Blizzard at support@blizzard.com and tell them what happened. Unfortunately, we're not affiliated with Blizzard, so we can't help you any further than this..

Happy Birthday, btw..

Have you tried to relink your character yet?

It will take about a week for Blizz to relink your character, at least, that's my experience from the Blizz support.

Oh, and happy birthday.
