Hidden Locations

Has anyone found any hidden locations in UP map?

What I mean by this is, for example, the lost pyramids, or easter island?

I've even heard something about a maze in the game that is really hard to navigate, but I don't know where it is

Also, I've downloaded the UP map from DS Net Guide and up in the top left corner it has Dornek's Stone Quarry, with a description of Sulfur Mines, but I can't say that I've been there either.

Has anyone found any other locations, and if so, where?

PS, does anyone know where the lift from the Great Northen Forest to Eastern Island is? I've been looking for it for ages

That maze is called "The pit of despair". You get there by going south from Lang..to the Redwood Gap. You should see a merchant at a bridge going over a gap. Once you see him...turn left. You should come to a pit. Go down this long spiral ramp..take an elevator down, and your into a dark maze. You need to find 3 skulls to open a door etc...have fun getting lost

As for the lift...it is located in the base of one of the twin towers found in the Great Northern Forest. I don't go there often because my route takes 15 minutes or so to get there...but I start in the town of Eldim...I head into the great Northern Forest..and follow the river. You know your in the right path when you encounter a gorge with 2 bridges going over it. Keep following the river and you will eventually encounter skeletons. This is your clue that your almost there. Once you find the twin towers, you can stop at a merchant situated right at the elevator going down.

You take the elevator down, this takes you to the island. Once on the island...you will find another similar tower. Go all the way up this till you hit another elevator. Take this all the way down to the volcano/lava level. The same level that the pyramids take you to.

Yeah supposedly it's easier through the Northern Forest than through the Pyramids... according to some forums I've read...

I tried looking for the pyramids (even followed instructions) but gave up after 45 min of no luck. Ruins and Chicken runs are so much better anyway.

Hi thanx for that Chako, now i'm annoyed, I decided to try and find the sulfur tunnels, and found that place you said (with the skeletons) but was too pre-ocupied, and then I just gave up (got pissed off) however i think i'm going to go back in and have a look.

Uh...ok, here are some instructions to find the lost pyramids, i got them from a PDS map that I use (http://ds.heavengames.com) - From Grescal, head south-south east. There is a possibility that you might see them, or just miss them by a tad. If you do miss then you will hit the wall and see a shrine near by. Run along the wall until you see a second one, go past it a bit, then head back into the dunes due north, you should see them.

*going back in to find the lift to the island*

OK, I think i've got a short cut to the skeleton bit you was talking about, from the smithy in eldilm, head west, almost following the signs to lang, and you will find a grorge with a bridge (if you find a little krug village, just do a little searching towards the north), once over this head north and you will find the skeletons (pic attached)

If you would be so kind as to tell me if this is the right place, and give me directions from here to the towers, I'd apprechate it, cheers

I don't think the attach image worked, so i've uploaded it to my server here - http://savepoint.co.uk/images/ds.jpg

No..your way off. That is located very close to Eldim, and in the wrong direction. You need to go the other way...deep into the Northern Forest.

Take a look here for a different set of instructions.

The lost pyramids and the eastern island has NO awards at all heh. Just eye candy.

I know, i've been to the eastern island, i just wanna find this lift in the northen forest.

can someone maybe take me to it?

Posted by: Freak

there are 2 lifts on the eastern island

1. to the lava land
2. to the great northern forest.

The twin towers in the great northern forest are right by the river, just follow that.

I have been able to find walkthroughs and directions to every part of the map at www.packmule.org

And to explore the desert you need to understand something about it.

The desert has 2 walls. The wall on the north side and a wall on the south side. Grescal is on the south side and the pyramids are on the north. Now as far as the East side West side there isn't one. It loops. To see what I mean walk a screen or 2 south from the hub or Armors tent. Turn straight east or west and walk straight. You'll come right back onto your path from the town.

Now the Location of the pyramids in relation to town is just a touch west of the hub. And a short jaunt south. So that does make it a tricky walk to do direct. But, the programmers added a sure fire trick to get it utilizing the loop. If you leave East S. E. from town you can find a path that your location never leaves town. That Trick points you in the perfect direction to reach the pyramids East S. E. Which keeps the npc in truth for saying somewhere S.E. of town. Even though there just a touch west. And a little longer walk. :P

But alas yes it's much easier to get to Eastern Island or the Valconic Caves through the N. Woods. From the pot shop go north into the north woods. Follow the path. It will come to a split. Follow the sign to Horvart North and Illarth Meadows. That path will turn east and go right past Hovart north. You follow that path as far east as it goes. When the path turns south you turn north into the woods. that is the general area of Loola's Twin Towers.

Eastern Island actually has 3 lifts. And a unique chest (maybe 2 ferget). Anyways One lift is to the Spirit of the Dead Pyramid, another to the Volcainc Caves, and the last one to Northern Woods (Loola's Twin Towers)

Now the PiT of Dispair. I used the walktrhough at www.packmule.org. LOL. That place can eat up many hours. Nice maze.

Oh and yes there is nothing on easter island or in the pyramids really. Their mainly pasages to The Volcanic Caves. And the reward for that isn't items. It's the highest Exp. in the map. Then Hiroth then Grescal with a few items then Qillrabe etc etc.

I hope this helps some of my fellow adventurers.

When I was in eastern island (via the pyramid), I was looking for the third lift (because I had heard about it) but could only find two

I will find this lift, I know i was getting close the last time, I just wish that my PC had not crashed
