Concerning the new Sid Meiers Civilization addition (CIV:III)... Who knows the game as well as theirselves.
Just really bored and I just bought the damn thing and cant seem to overpower the other countries: always bullying me into lump sums for peace treaties even though they could crush me in one small swoop or even how to cheat the turn system( the most annoying part of the game)
THANKS

Get lots of little weenies that work the land they are vital.
Also dont give in to demands, at all! The game remembers your actions and if you offer to pay someone tribute all the computers will come to you and demand it too over time and get real mad when you say no.
If you are about to go into a big battle save the game, the game autosaves every turn or so also. Then watch what happens and if the outcomes are undesirable reload and either wait a turn or do something to change the games cached actions. (if you just reload and do the exact same thing the game will give you the exact same results) So like i said just goto next turn.
Build cities on hills, when you build a city it automaticaly treats the land its built on as a grassland regardless of what it was but you get the bonuses from whatever was there in addtion, so you get the defensive bonus for a hill. Also this applies to raiding other countries, station your men on mountains when you are grouping up or healing.
NEVER trade technology. As soon as you give it to anouther country not only do they have it but they are so stupid they trade it to all the other comps.
Ive yet to do a peaceful ending to a game, so this advice is combat related, constantly be attacking, if you are waiting for that vital upgrade to make yer army stronger you've waited too long, especialy on big maps. The game only goes to 2050 which is only something like 400 turns or something, so you cant afford to waste any considering how slow units move. I hate how it can take fourty years for infantry to move into anouther country.
Thats all for now.

as soon as you start, expand like a mofo! and try to have atleast one defense unit in a city. then, build archers or something to that measure, and take out the nearest civ asap. do it right, i'd you'll have yourself a continent all to yourself...assuming you have all of the coast under controll and keep out foreigners.
when invading, start off captured cities by building a barracks in them and a harbor in atleast one coastal city. that way, if you get a better unit while invading, you can regroup in captured cities containing barracks and upgrade. that is, if you didnt destroy roads and such on the way there.

Don't go to war with the Japanese of the Germans. War with them = j00 are ownz0r3d.
And regarding war, I personally don't like to reload when the outcome is undesirable. I like to just roll with the punches and see what happens.
This concludes Gunslinger's Civ 3 strat-o-the-day.

try demanding 100000000 per turn off a weaker neighbour, they usually cave and pay up
