AT&T 56K and games?

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I am considering switching to AT&T 56K as it is about $6 cheaper a month than my current isp. Any gamers using it and what do you think? Most of my online gaming is spent on b.net. Thx.

dont use att, but 56k works fine on bnet.

We don't have AT&T 'round here.. but I haven't heard anything overly negative about it.

Any 56k is better then AOL

My friend has ATT 56k and it has been fine for his online gaming.

I currently use aol, why I won't go into, with surprising little difficulty. A little better performance for less $ sounds good. I am trying to make sure that I am not jumping from the frying pan to the fire.

you may be. aol is my backup isp, and is more stable than my primary. the connection speed is a little lower, which is why its my backup

If you are using a modem take the tick out of error control, this helps it deal with the bursts of data easier
when gaming as opposed to browsing.

This also makes cheaper modems die upon connection, or loose an extremely high amount of packets. The same thing applies for leadcore lines, and lines with a high amount of static.

Don't uncheck if if any of the above applies to you
