(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Posted by: Fink

Well, i was going through my music and i noticed i didn't have all that many techno songs, i was wondering if anyone knew of any good songs i can d/l and everything. If you could tell me that would be *SuPeR*

Posted by: Ghetto Blasta

Anything, and yes I mean ANYTHING by Apollo 440 or Aphex Twin

Posted by: TheeMon

theres a song by infected mushroom that rocks... i think its "the gathering" but im not sure heh

Posted by: Shalome

Agreed on the Aphex Twin. Propellerheads are good too. Try some Orbital, it's pretty tasty.. and I will always have a special place in my heart for the Chemical Brothers.

Posted by: Freak

I'm not that big on techno but here's some stuff I have

Infected Mushroom
DJ Tiesto
Crystal Method
Astral Projection
Kimball Collins
DJ Keoki
Moby
Prodigy

Posted by: Shalome

Moby hasn't done anything truly "techno/raver" in about 6 years... but his stuff is excellent anyway.

Crystal Method is good stuff too, as is Prodigy. Man, now I need to go to the music store and buy more CDs!

Chemical Brothers

oh dear, I wouldn't have considered many of those as even close to rave/techno, as most are far to slow by my count.

Posted by: Ion Silverbolt

Well, around these parts, just about any type of electronic music gets grouped together regardless of what its classification. Usually anything Electronic is considered Techno.

If you want to get specific, I would say I enjoy Progressive Trance, Psychadelic, and Goa. But I'll listen to any electronic music that sounds cool to me.

And Aphex Twin is overrated. Some of his stuff is really cool but some of it also can be considered audio rape.

Posted by: Grimlock

I wouldn't have considered Apollo440, Chemical Brothers, Orbital, The Prodigy, Chicane, Darude, Paul Van Dyke, PPK, Fragma, carl cox, Iio, Paul Oakenfold, even close to techno/rave, they are just general run of the mill dance artists, in fact the prodigy aren't even exclusively dance, some of their music could almost qualify as rock.

Posted by: Shalome

Uh.. ok.

Well, then, enlighten us poor bastards as to what makes an Englishman dance.

Posted by: justinious

While I'm not a huge Techno/Raver, I do have a few songs I like.

"Lucy's F***ing Sky" by Lords of Acid is my fav.

Posted by: Forty-Three

I think grim's talking about stuff like happy hardcore. If you want to be restrictive about what techno/rave defines, from what I gather, raves play a lot of happy hardcore, trance, eurodance(ugh), etc.

A lot of the reccomendations up top are good picks. Also fink, if youre interested in stuff like drum&bass, keep an eye out for DJ Hype, Dillninja(sp?), and Roni Size. If you're feeling really adventureous, you could also browse the mp3.com charts. Theres a lot of crap on there, but I've found some definite gems in the past

Posted by: Freak

Try Dave Clark for some drums & basses.

Posted by: Fink

Wow, didn't know i would get this many sugjestions on music, i guess i should ask here instead of my dorky friends hehe, thnx for the songs, still have quite a few to d/l.

Let's see, we'll have to add music to the lists of things this site "unofficially" supports -- computers, games, programming, web development, humor, news, entertainment (movies, music, etc)..

We've been known to give relationship advice, pet care advice, employment advice, hair-care pointers, college-choice advice... We've had political debates, product endorsement... hmm.. What DON'T we do?!?

Well, we don't get out of the house much, but hey...

Amen to that! Check out Live At Homelands. It's got Sasha, Oakenfold, and someother guy, I think it's Digweed, but it's an amazing concert.
