I got this chain letter in my email today. It was sent to at least 60+ people.
----------------------------------------
Hi

I'm sorry to tell you that I found a virus on my "C" drive that was evidently passed along to me and my anti-virus system did not pick it up.

The virus is called jdbgmgr.exe.This virus sits quietly for 14 days before damaging the system and if you have it you must notify everyone on your e-mail address book whether you have sent them an e mail recently or not.

This is how to check for the virus and get rid of it if you have it.

Go to START,FIND OR SEARCH OPTIONS.
In the Files/Folder option, write the name jdbgmgr.exe
Be sure you search you C drive
Click FIND NOW
The virus has a teddy bear icon with the name jdbgmgr.exe
DO NOT OPEN IT!
Right click and delete it. It will then go the the RECYCLE BIN.
Go to the recycle bin and delete it there also.

I hope no one has had a problem because of this and that we are catching this in time.

Yvonne

Some people are just stupid.

No, this has nothing to do with stupidity. Lack of knowledge dealing with computers...yes...but not stupidity.

There is a difference.

My grandmothers email got sent that 14 times. 3 of the times it was forwarded by good friends who actually followed the directions and had to reformat

Posted by: Shalome

Heh.. you do NOT have to reformat if you delete this file.

http://support.microsoft.com/defaul...b;en-us;Q322993 -- scroll down to the section marked "Recovery." All you have to do is to reinstall the Java Virtual Machine, which you can easily download from the Microsoft site.

Whoever told your grandmother's friends that they needed to reformat is just as clueless as the people who told them to delete the file in the first place.

Posted by: SKYHN

I dont think anybody told them to reformat. I think they did it on their own.

Its funny though how people will get an email from someone they dont know then follow the directions.

I got that a while back. Thought about taking it seriously and checking symantec to see if they had anything on it. Then I noticed the email was from my mom and promptly deleted the email and went back to my tapioca pudding.
