I'd like to see 2 more sections added:
Linux* and Mac
*this suggestion was made voluntarily(sp) - Bosk had nothing to do with it

Linux might be a possibility, but I don't know any forum members who know anything about Macs. The people seeking help would probably know more than us.

I agree with Ion on the Mac part ... we'd look silly to have a Mac forum and have those who ask know more about Macs then the forum regulars - I just point them to Mac-oriented sites so they can get help more efficiently.
As for a Linux subforum, I may have to think about it... I don't know how much of our current membership know a lot about Linux to make a subforum about it feasible...

I suggest you make that a question of the week poll -- "should we support *nix systems?" Or maybe just a general/off-topic thread poll. I have a little experience with Solaris and BSD versions, I know DemonBob does some RedHat, and isn't Kdr Kane (er.. Kaneth) familar with it as well?
I mean, we're not quite Slasdot level of *nix geeks.. but we might be able to learn a little from looking up answers to users questions, eh?

At first a Linux forum sounded alright.
I've changed my mind. I don't see that many questions about it. If there were more questions, I'd be inclined to have a forum.
We've probably had more questions about having a Linux forum than about Linux.

Well, that might be the chicken-or-egg-question effect -- do we not get more Linux questions because we don't have a Linux forum? But don't we need more Linux questions to have a Linux forum?
BTW, doing a quick search on this site came up with these references:
Linux - 205 posts
Unix - 47 posts
RedHat - 22 posts
Solaris - 21 posts
FreeBSD - 15 posts
Granted, there's some overlap... And I'm not exactly bucking for a *nix forum (although the learning opportunity would be nice), partially because of the kinds of zealots those forums tend to attract. I just like playing devil's advocate (not that Bosk and Kittie or *nix systems are the devil... )

I'm MAC certified, but haven't touched one in a couple years. Have used Linux and BSD a lot, but don't think I could ever explain have the stuff I had to figure out in a way that is understandable. I say keep it a Win/Gaming support for now. Just my two cents.
