How could I have missed this?

There I am, cleaning out my keyboard and mouse. Im poping keys off the keyboard, blowing it out with air, and I turn the keyboard over to undo the face plates, when something catches my eye.
2 USB Ports. Ive had this PC for almost a year(July 8th) and I have never seen those before. I nearly bought a hub a few weeks ago because I needed an extra port.
Ive cleaned my keyboard before and never seen those USB Ports. How could I have missed this?
