RIAA to Crack Down on Users

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

If you are a heavy user of P2P file sharing programs and have a vast library of media, it may be time to worry:

THE BIG recording companies, working through their trade association, the Recording Industry Association of America, are moving toward filing copyright lawsuits that would target the highest volume song providers within the services, which allow people to grab songs without paying artists or labels, according to people with knowledge of the matter. The suits would be part of a broader effort, including a public campaign that may feature prominent artists urging music fans to respect copyright rules.

There is still a thick layer of legal issues that the RIAA has to sift through, but it appears they are finally focusing on the end problem. I find that it will be extremely hard to prove a user hasn't legally owned a copy of the music. Read more at MSNBC.

I found a way around that too, they don't bother me anymore, no matter how much I download.

^^^^ that is just dumb and stupid

I hope they enjoy another year of worse sales coming up

Pissing off consumers only increases the chance of them going to the kid on the corner for 5 dollar bootlegs

I just read that above article, and much of it sounds stupid, all the riaa is doing now is pissing off consumers.
