Whats the best way to teach a rabbit my shirt is NOT a source of food? He keeps biting it, and last time, he took out quite a foew chest hairs when he pulled his head back up, and it hurt.

I've tried pushing him away, and lightliy flicking his leg whever he bites me, both to no avail. Of course, I'va only worked on it for 10 minutes or so.

It takes longer than 10 minutes to train a pet, Darky. Just keep at it.

So when are you gonna post a picture of the little bugger, anyway?

solution: don't wear a shirt .... but be wary of nipple nibblers...

Soon. I'll have to get a camera working. I SHOULD have gotten one from the vet, but they 'don't do' rabbits.

this is sorta icky but put liquid soap on it, every time you play with him - you do not gotta do this for ever just a few weeks and he will stop - ither that or hot sauce - works for getting most animals to stop eating stuff

Not reacting to the bite will break the behavior. If the behavior does not elicit the desired effect, then many bunnies give it up. This is the easy end of the aggressive scale.

just let the bunny nibble. he likes you.

I think your avatar kind of magnifies the meaning of that quote more than you want it to..hehe

I have a bunny. They are easy to train if you keep working with them. We trained ours to use a litter box to go in the bathroom and to go outside and not run away from home. They like to nibble on stuff so I do not know...Maybe hand him/her something else to nibble on while you are holding it.

I think if you're going to do the thing with soap or hot sauce that you don't need to do it every time, just once in a while.

They'll learn faster, i think, if there's no way to predict when the punishment will come.
But that might only work with positive reinforcement and not positive punishment ('positive' meaning that something was added to the environment. 'negative' meaning something was taken away).

Maybe I payed too much attention to Psychology last semester.

well, if anyone wants to be trained how to take care of little, annoying, pooping children, I guess bunnies would be okay...
