Starcraft countdown timer!! Ahhh!!!

O.K. here's the next deal. I want to make it so I have a countdown timer, which I do. I get the countdown timer when I take Raynor to the neutral Command Center. Now I also want it so when the countdown timer reaches 0, I win. BUT...when I start the game w/o the timer it automatically wins, no matter if I use countdown timer is at least, at most, or exactly XXX seconds. So basically I don't want it to claim a victory for when the time reaches 0 until after I trigger the countdown meter. If anybody understands that please let me know! Or I can give this example:
Raynor is rescued
he goes to the neutral base and touches the command center
Everything is given to him there, and the countdown time is activated
Now, say I set the timer to at least, at most, or exactly XXX seconds and start, the game automatically lets me claim victory. Any help/suggestions?

Do you still have the timer in your map now?
When do you win the game, at the start of the game or when the timer should begin to count down?
edit: What are your winning conditions (where do you have the "end game - victory" thing?).
And what does the timer trigger look like now? (conditions/actions)

If you are still in need of a solution. You can set it so that when the timer reaches 0, something that doesn't alter the game (such as maybe A zergling goes into Layer 2) happens when it reaches zero and then set it so that you win when a zergling goes into Layer 2. That way the problem u are having won't happen (unless of course you have lots of zerglins on ur map and put Layer 2 in a place where they would usually go, then'd you try something else but it's the same idea).

Okay from what I heard I think this is what you want:
---------------------Trigger 1
Conditions:
Current player brings exactly one Jim Raynor(marine) to location command center.
Actions:
Modify countdown timer to 400 seconds
Unpuase countdown timer
------------------------Trigger 2
Conditions:
Countdown is exactly 5 game seconds
Actions:
End scenario in victory for current player
---------------------
I think that is what you want.

Thank you guys for helping me out yet again! I'll try it after work today and get back to you with the results. I have a feeling Black Knight is right on that one. I never knew you could unpause the countodwn timer. That will probably solve my problem with creating units too. Thanks again!
