New PCI video card over integrated video

Hello,
I have an AST Bravo LC 1996 computer.
I am trying to install a Nvidia TNT2 M64 video card in the available PCI slot on the riser.
The specifications state that it will work with any pentium class or higher computer, I have a P133.
I have disabled the on-board integrated video in device manager, and shut the computer down.
When I install the video card, the fan spins, but I have no signal to the monitor, and it stalls at cmos boot-up and hangs there.
Could this be a power supply problem?
The power supply I have is 145 watts.
I have ordered an ATX 250 watt power supply.
Please help?
Thanks

Have you tried diabling the on board video card in your bios?

Also check:
Make sure the power strip, if used, is plugged in and the power switch is in the on position.
Make sure the monitor and computer system power cords are properly connected to the wall outlet or power strip.
Make sure there are no bent pins on the monitor's data cable.
Make sure that the monitor data cable is properly connected to the video adapter and the monitor.
Turn the contrast and brightness control knobs on the monitor to there highest settings.

CMOS does not give an option to turn off the integrated video.
All connections work fine through the on-board video port.

also, the Nvidia specs state 200 watt minimum power supply, for the TNT2 M64 32 mb
I am hoping that it does the trick.
What do you think?

I am thinking the Nvidia might have a fail safe built in.

Some mainboards have a jumper to Disable On Board Video. For others there is a setting in the Bios and yet others are automatically disabled when a new video card is installed.
You may have to disable the onboard video by a jumper setting on the MB. You will need the MB's paperwork for that. It will show you what pins to jump to disable the on-board video.

Try these steps and see how you come out.
Installing new video card.
Do not install your drivers yet. Just click cancel.
Now go into device manager and you will now see two video adapters.
Disable the one that does not show up as your new card. It should be listed as a standard VGA adapter.
Highlight this one and go into the properties.
Down in the lower left corner uncheck the show in all profiles, and check disable this device in all profiles.
You will now need to reboot in order to recover the resources used by the onboard video.
After reboot you can check and you will get something to the effect of:
[enable device]
This device is installed but there is a problem with it.
This device is using no resources. To assign them manually go to resouces tab.
You now know your onboard is disabled and using now IRQ's.
Now do a full install of your new video card.

OK, I will try that and get back to you.
THANK YOU!

I think you should stop playing with it until you get that ps. when a component or game gives you a minimum, it usually is the minimum. should you happen to get this to run on your 145W, you might end up damaging the card or the mobo. were not talking the difference between 195 and 200, this is a good 40% increase in power that the card requires.
i find it odd that youre trying to upgrade a p133, but i guess its the challenge.

Also, if it is indeed a "low-end" motherboard, you might try lowering the AGP acceleration to 1x (certainly don't run it at 4x).

I can not afford another system.
I am poor.
