Quake 3 Arena LAN issue

I have recently set up a network at home
and am keen to get a multiplayer of quake 3 arena
happening.
The network works properly but when i load up
Q3 on both machines i set 1 up as server and the machines cannot find a server (Local Setting).
I cant figure out whats going on!
