What's the fastest AMD CPU for ECS K7VZA ver.3.2 motherboard?
Thanks.

I run a:
Motherboard: ECS Elitegroup K7VZA
CPU: AMD Athlon 1Ghz
RAM: 512Mb
GC: Nvidia GeForce 2 MX 400 32Mb
- I heard one can plant a 1.4Ghz CPU in this motherboard, but then I read somewhere that this board can bare the + XP versions of AMD CPU's.
I'm very curious about this!

I did a little searching and didn't find much on it other then some reviews stating that it will support the future 1.5 thunderbirds at FSB 100. Not good. You should want to be on the 133 FSB since all new XPs are designed for this FSB (front side bus). You should not have any troubles getting a 133 FSB CPU to work in a 100 FSB motherboard. That would be a downgrade. You can't go the other way though.
Now with that in mind, it all depends on your clocking ratio. Take out your manual and look at the multipliers. You multiply your clock by your FSB. So you would need a 15X 100 FSB = 1500Mhz or 1.5Ghz athlon XP. If your motherboard supported FSB133, then you would use 11.3 to get as close to 1.5 GHz as possible.
See how high your clock multipliers go at. If that board supports 133 FSB, Then you would use a 11.3 clock multiplier depending on if your can change your multiplier by .1 at a time. Some motherboards only go at +/- 5. In that case, you will be forced to either go 11 or 11.5. Then you would either be underclocking or overclocking the CPU. It all depends on your Bios, and the clock multipliers your motherboard supports.
Just be aware that AMD XPs are named differently then their actual GHz rating.
XP 1500+ = 1.33 GHz
XP 1600+ = 1.40
XP 1700+ = 1.47
XP 1800+ = 1.53
XP 1900+ = 1.60
XP 2000+ = 1.66
XP 2100+ = 1.73
These are all designed for FSB 133.
