Have you played Fallout?

This poll is inspired by Tecil's post mentioning Fallout in the NwN vs. WC3 thread in the NwN forum.

http://www.opentechsupport.net/forums/show...

In the two years I've been posting on these boards (OTS and TG) I've reccomended Fallout and Fallout 2 to those ranting about games. As far as I know, no one has yet to head my advice. Maybe all of you have already played it (like Tecil), or maybe my advice is just ignored/thrown aside like some old balony sandwich that grew a beard.

And so I ask the question, have you played the Fallout games?

Posted by: Outlaw

Well I kinda know who you are but I still voted for the last option

Posted by: Canis Lupus

Yeah, I played it ... it wasn't manna from heaven, but it was pretty good ...

BG series are still my favorites...

Posted by: Tecil

Fallout ownz.

There is a pen and paper version that some fanboys put together. I've acutally played it and it's quite good.

I haven't played the fallout series, and I have no idea what it is about. I presume it's a RPG, but I don't know anything other than that.

Posted by: Tecil

Post apocolyptic RPG. Very engrossing storylines and an awesome player generation system.

Fallout 1

Fallout 2

Fallout 2 resembles the BG series, reminds me of torment a bit too. The screenshots are pretty good looking. The story sounds pretty good too. I don't think I'd buy the game now though, got too many other games to play.

Posted by: Tecil

You can buy the twin pack with both games for 9.99 at most places now. Walmart even sells it.

It looks like BG and Torment because it uses the same engine. It's just not an D&D game. You only control one chracter and sometimes a hirling, but you don't have complete control of them.

is fallout2 a RPG, my friend gaved me a burned copy of it, since it might b a RPG, i mgith give it a try

Posted by: Tecil

Yes Fallout is an RPG, but I wouldn't suggest playing a burned copy.

Posted by: -EG-raynor

y not, ??

Posted by: Tecil

Because that would be illegal and you would be taking $$$ away from the developers who worked hard to bring us such a good game.

Posted by: Xtren

And if you want to play a burned copy of anything, you might not want to talk about it on these forums either.... or on any forums for that matter.

Posted by: Gunslinger

It's kind of an RPG, but I would call it an RPG/adventure mix.

I disliked the battle system, but the story was most excellent.

I have both Fallout and Fallout 2. I didn't like them much. Didn't get into them and as such..only played them for an hour each and concluded my time could be better spent playing games I enjoy.

Posted by: -EG-raynor

the story like u said was good, but the gameplay over all sucked

Posted by: Hamtaro

its kind of an rpg... never played fallout2, but fallout one leans more towards rpg, while fallout tactics is... well... strategy based moreso than rpg.

Posted by: Ghetto Blasta

I haven't actually played Fallout 1 very much, but from what I played, I thought Fallout 2 was much better, especially because it's much longer and has the bozar.....mmmm...bozar.....

Posted by: Tecil

Fallout 1 was more linear, you had a set amount of days to complete the game. There was some good stuff in it though.

Iguana on a stick anyone?

Posted by: Ghetto Blasta

I'd prefer some World Famous Duntan Brothers Jerky with some ice cold Nuka-Cola!
