i Cant reformat

when i type "format c:" nothing happens ( C is the right drive) this happen once b4 and my friend told me to type something b4 that and it worked then

What do you mean "nothing happens"?
Does it just blink, and go back to a C: prompt?
Are you doing this in DOS, or in an MS-DOS Prompt through Windows?
What version of Windows are you using?

youll probably want to boot your comp from a floppy to do this. make a boot disk, boot with it, then, while still on the floppy drive type format c: if youre working from c drive, it will usually refuse to format itself.
