Radeon 9700 plugs into your powersupply?

What is up with this?

Probably because its power hungery, and can't draw enough power from the AGP slot alone?

Posted by: SKYHN

I would think thats AGP, heh.

But AGP can supply 1.5v and 3.3v. Thats one power hungry hog if it needs to be plugged in directly. The GF4 Ti is 350watt minimum, 400watt + recommended. I wonder how much this is.

I said AGP.
I dunno what your talking about

I don't see what the big problem with the molex connecter would be. Maybe for those who have manufactured PCs that only have so many connecters...

If it needs extra power, give it more.

No problem. Its just that people are starting to have to upgrade more than 1 part for new hardware now.

There's a power splitter, you don't need to upgrade anything.

Btw, a geforce 4 works fine on a PSU that has "only 300 W".
