Can Any Video Card Fit Into My Computer?!
(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I am getting extremely angry! I have one of those realy retarded flexi case small computers. My computer has 2 pci slots and no agp slots . One of my pci slots has an ethernet card in it. I was wondering, is there is a video card that will actually fit into my computer. I have tried 2 so far (Radeon 7000 pci, and Xtasy Geforce4MX420 PCI.) Both of the cards are to High. I have also seen many pictures of pci video cards. All of them apear to big for my computer. When I try to put back on the cover to my computer case after putting the pci card into the slot, the card sticks out and I am unable to pull the case back on. I then have to remove the card in order to put back on the cover. Is there any kind video card that is about the size as an ethernet card? or mabye a little bit bigger?
Thnx-
Oh and dont tell me to get a new computer and this is not a matter of pci bus compatibility.

If you mean a modern ethernet card, those things are really small, no way you'll find a video card that size. Older ethernet cards are smaller though, it depends which one you mean.
I think all video cards are the same height (assuming we're talking about a desktop case here).
You could just leave the case off, I do that too (for other reasons, but that doesn't matter here), as long as you don't have cats or some other static things that get in there, you'll be alright.

yeah thats a good idea... leave the case off. I might do that. Thanks. But I at least want to cover my computer with something so a ton of dust wont get in it. Any suggestions on material.
Thanx-

Have you thought of buying a cheap mid tower case.
This would only cost you around $40 dollars, and a little elbow grease to transfer everything.

how do I know what mid tower case to buy? Which one will be compatible with my motherboard? Also, is keeping the case off my cmoputer increasing the risk of fire?

I have a Jabil Motherboard - 1.1-GHz Pentium III. What information do I have to know about the case so I know it will be compatible with my motherboard?

Well I am not familiar with this Flexi mini computer case. I tried looking it up on the net to no avail.
Is the motherboard a mini ATX standard? If so, then it should fit in any ATX computer case.
I can't tell more without seeing it or even having an idea of what your case looks like. sorry.
As for fire hazard...your computer better not go up in flames with case on or off. Leaving the case open won't increase fire hazard. It will however, decrease your RF shielding. So you may see some interference in your TV, radio station etc (worst case scenario).

Well I searched on your motherboard and found that it is a gateway. Is your case from gateway as well? If so, I am not so sure about the proprietariness (new word alert!) of your hardware. If it varies from the standard..then chances are you may be stuck with their case.

Thnx for all of your help so far.
I am still looking up information, but here is some pictures of my case

This page may also be of use (specs of case)

Also, incase none of this works... Is the lack of RF shielding a health issue?
thnx-

lol, no. will cause interference with unsheilded electronics nearby, but thats it.

Well I really haven't a clue about the form factor of that motherboard, nor do they state it.
You may wish to email Gateway and ask them about the possibility of transferring your stuff into a standard ATX small to mid tower case. See what they have to say about it.
90 W power supply? Are they serious?
That thing looks like a toy. Now I know why you can't do anything with it.
shakes head in sadness.
Maybe someone in here will have a better idea or knowledge that I am lacking on this issue.

Yeah I think I will email gateway... Thanks alot for your help. If I can't replace the case, at least I know that I wont die from radiation poisoning or something
